It drives me mad that you guys have not listened to Sylvan yet....or MMEB grin grin

You know the beauty of being a fan of Genesis is that their music has been so diversified over the years. You'll find fans of all genres of music, not just prog symphonic rock wink

Crikey, I even saw a Duran Duran thread on the main site which held top spot for a while. Not sure I can blame Phil Collins for that though grin

Yes, I saw that Duran Duran thread too. Can't say I was ever a big fan. To be honest, I think Simon Le Bon has one of the worst voices in any genre! I personally never thought he could sing a note! I would choose Spandau Ballet over Duran Duran anytime. At least Tony Hadley has a good voice.
But my niece, who is in her mid thirties now, and my nephew, in his early thirties, both enjoyed Duran Duran, and went to see them a few years back too.
But as regards other bands, there are still many out there waiting to be discovered, and in the end it all comes down to logistics.
I would love to buy loads of cds, but can't afford to, so tend to concentrate on stuff I know I like. But I do take the occasional chance and get something completely different. Bands like Galleon, Like Wendy, Flamborough Head, The Watch & Simon Says are all represented in my collection by at least one cd.
It pays to be diverse! cheesy

The one album I have by them is 'Tales From Moonlit Bay'.
What is their other stuff like? I have seen them compared to early Genesis, but can't see it somehow. undecided

Nikki

Have a great time, drive carefully, and look after yourself.

What does your hubby think about you gallivanting about the country like this?

I look forward (massively) to the reports on this incredible night.

Chessman - are you going to this? Isn't it just down the road from you?

Cheers

Nov

hi new to this thread.. but I did (quite a bit) of reading... had never heard of The Flower Kings.. didn't even know what Rosie meant by TFK lol...maybe I should buy a cd and see if I like them since so many of you seem to think they're good...have heard a couple of songs that someone had as samples...they didn't sound too bad...should I download a couple of songs?.. and which ones do you recommend?

Will start playing some TFK again soon. Been preoccupied with the excellent debut from The Tangent. And now the second Tangent album has arrived!
So tomorrow I will have to give that one a listen too.
Also been playing 'The Ladder' by Yes a bit. Borrowed it off a friend.
My first reaction was, 'too modern and ballady', but on repeated listens I have to say it isn't too bad actually. May even invest in it myself eventually.
I may even venture out of the house soon - can't stay indoors enjoying myself for ever now, can I? grin
