Just going to watch the game between Germany and Poland now.
I've been thinking of some games in musical terms, so the above match could be - RPWL v Riverside.

So when it comes to Sweden, I'll be thinking TFK and shouting out 'come on Roine and the boys!'
wink

Correct!! Pittsburgh is in the USA.

You got me dead to rights there.

The Loreley gig was the only one on the tour dates page that wasn't in the states. The two dates I posted were the only two that jumped out at me, and I failed to realize that one was in Germany, the only one on the tour page not in the states.

Thanks for so gracefully pointing it out Nov rolleyes

I've really enjoyed re-discovering "Unfold The Future" this past weekend. Mike Portnoy (drummer for Dream Theater/Transatlantic/Liquid Tension Experiment and more) lists UTF as being in his top 20 albums ever.

To understand this album as actually being in two parts, the first disc being a prog venture, and the second disc being pretty much improvisational jazz/fusion of sorts, is to better grasp UTF.

As difficult as it may be for a TFK newbie to grasp this music (140 minutes of it, I believe), after a few spins, this may just become your favorite album ever. Seriously.

Damn good stuff from Roine and friends cool wink

Couldn't have put it better myself COT.
UTF is one amazing album. I love every track on it, and it is so varied and unusual.
It makes me laugh when 'critics' say 'all TFK albums sound the same.'
I could listen to any two FK albums at random, and find they were quite different. What they do successfully, and it's a very hard thing to do, is vary their music enough to be interesting, and yet still retain the classic FK sound.
Not many bands do, or can do, that.
As most people on here know, my favourite FK album is Flower Power, but UTF runs it very, very close. I can hardly separate them. Both are superb, classic TFK, and yet very different.
If they'd only released those two albums, they would be prog legends in my mind, and many others.
And if those albums had come out in the early seventies, well, they would be considered the kings of prog, without a doubt.
Damn it, I feel like playing UTF right now, yet it's bedtime. cry
Will have to put it off until the future unfolds. cheesy
