Er..regarding the live cd you bought in Canada, Steve, what's it called? Is it ''Alive On Planet Earth', or 'Meet The Flower Kings'?

Hi Chessman,

It is called "The Flower Kings" and has Edition Limitee Quebec 1998 underneath (sorry, I can't type in the accents). It has a red cover, with a photo of the band in the centre. I bought it in Freeson Records store in Montreal, where we were on holiday in 2006 (great shop, by the way).

Tracklist is:-

1 Kite - prev unreleased 1996
2 Piece of Nizzimo - live April 5th 1996
3 The Flower King - re-recorded 1998
4 Duke of Nuke - live April 5th 1996
5 Garden of Dreams part 1 - pre-prod1998
6 Buffalo Man - prev unreleased 1996

The label is Ipso Facto and it cost me $12. I bought it purely because I didn't own a TFK CD and thought that it was about time I did smiley

I actually saw a Steps concert embarassed We took our boys to see them at Bham NEC (they were very young and liked the line dancing song). It was appalling; 5 support "acts" plus Steps and there wasn't one musician on stage all night sad

No lasting harm was done as both boys now have excellent tastes in music and love concerts, like we dowink

For God's sake don't threaten poor Steve with The Welsh Wondergirl already, we want him to come back to us, don't we? (Don't worry Steve, we'll protect you...well, Nov will)

Haha wink I've met the delightful Nikki on at least 4 occasions and don't know what you can possible mean. I do believe that she'll be trekking up to Wolverhampton this Saturday, to join us at G2's gig. I'm sure that my wife, Julie and Nikki will get along fine; they both share a love of Magners grin

I see. Well, I have a copy of this, sent to me by a kind soul over on the 'official' forum called Sideshow Dave, who is in Canada. The only track I don't have is the re-re-recorded Flower King, and I have that on other cds anyway.
I really like this album, Kite and Buffalo Man both being very good songs, imo.
Piece Of Nizzimo and Duke Of Nuke show their improvisational side off very nicely.
Give it another spin Steve, I'm sure you'll get into it if you persevere.
Have you heard the full hour-long version of Garden Of Dreams yet? It's on Flower Power. Probably my favourite Flower Kings epic, and that's saying something considering how many they've done, and the quality of them all.
Good luck! cheesy
wink

The album is quite a rarity, so keep hold of it, even if you don't end up playing it much. It may be worth something. (I'll give you 2 for it now if you like!) grin

The Flower Kings were initially slow to grow on most of us here Steve but when they grab hold of you it's like falling in love.

Novs right actually!
Except you won't ever fall out of love with TFK once they're in your heart, plus they won't go off and fall in love with someone else grin

Quote:
Nikki hadn't heard any Flower Kings until the beginning of 2007. By the end of the year she'd bought all their albums and DVDs and they'd become her 3rd all-time favourite band behind Genesis and Rush. AND she's fallen in love with Hasse from the band wink

It's all true grin
Wonderful band Steve, they were my best gig of 2007 grin That includes the Genesis gigs shocked wink
I've been a bit quiet in here of late but never stop playing TFK. smiley

So, at last we have the return of the ubiquitious Squonknikki! About time too!
Tell me dear, have you, er, actually found, er, any time to do your, er 'part-time' job, which is, if I remember correctly - it has been a long time - nursing?
You must wander up and down the hospital corridors to the accompaniment of: 'Who's that?' from the other Nurses and Doctors.
grin

However, let me be the first to say: 'Welcome back!' wink

Had a good day musically today, whilst watching the snooker.
Played:
Tomas Bodin - An Ordinary Night In My Ordinary Life
followed by IAM

then, this evening, played:
The Sum Of No Evil

It sounded better than ever, and I now love 'The Sum Of No Reason'.

Obviously every other bugger was out and about, so I'm left here, once again, all alone, distraught, dispirited, disembowelled...well, maybe not the latter. laugh
