So you share a lot of your musical tastes with Nov and Nikki do you? Just how many Westlife, Kylie & New Kids On The Block cds do you have?

I met Steve at The Barmy Arms in Twickenham before the Genesis gig last year and much of our conversation was indeed about the groups you mention. We also discussed the sad demise of important bands such as 911, Blue and Bewitched but were hoping to be back at Twickenham sometime for Take That and the potential (at that time) Boyzone reunion.

I mean, the Flower Kings and Spock's Beard are OK but those bands are really where it's at.

So the 'real' Nov comes out of the closet.
I knew it! I knew you were just pretending to like TFK and SB etc. You probably don't even care much for Genesis and Camel.
Shame on you! Call yourself a multi-talented instrumentalist? Hmm, I don't know...
And as for that Nikki, well, she has a lot to answer for too! shocked grin

Thanks for the welcome, Fraser and Chessman. I like the banter too, just my kind of humour wink

I can't promise to post often but will browse and let you know when I've listened to some more TFK work. I have a live CD that I bought in Canada in 2006. Didn't like it on first play but will try it again.

Steve

PS Nov, good job you didn't tell them about The Spice Girls smiley

The Spice Girls! Now you're talking my kind of music!
I especially like 'Paprika', she's amazing!

Er..regarding the live cd you bought in Canada, Steve, what's it called? Is it ''Alive On Planet Earth', or 'Meet The Flower Kings'?
Whichever it is, I urge you to persevere with it. It will hit you in the face suddenly and you'll go 'wow, what have I been missing all these years!'

and now, back to The Spice Girls...I also like 'The Stick Insect' a lot too, she comes in handy if you don't have a toothpick... grin

It's a very friendly place here Steve - the best thread on the forum. Wait until we hear from The Welsh Wondergirl again though. That's when things really liven up wink

The Flower Kings were initially slow to grow on most of us here Steve but when they grab hold of you it's like falling in love.

Several people here (including the likes of Gooner) had written the band off after listening to one album a couple of times but were inspired by our enthusiasm to try again and they've clicked in a BIG way. Seeing them is the final part of the jigsaw.

Nikki hadn't heard any Flower Kings until the beginning of 2007. By the end of the year she'd bought all their albums and DVDs and they'd become her 3rd all-time favourite band behind Genesis and Rush. AND she's fallen in love with Hasse from the band wink

I didn't want to give all our secrets away.

By the way, do you prefer Steps or S-Club? It's a difficult decision I find.

For God's sake don't threaten poor Steve with The Welsh Wondergirl already, we want him to come back to us, don't we? (Don't worry Steve, we'll protect you...well, Nov will)

Er, There's nothing wrong with Steps. Very good group, superb musicians and singers, composers and performers, and they have, or had, H in the band as well, what more could we ask? wink

The Flower Kings? Aren't they the band who have the keyboard player who used to play football for Leeds Utd and Sweden? Tomas Brolin, or something like that? Last time I saw him, he sure had piled the weight on! undecided grin

As to your other question, I haven't seen Steve Lucius on for quite some time... laugh

Er..is this box empty for a reason? Or was there supposed to be a picture here of Roine or someone?

As for us forming a double act, will you be Morecambe to my Wise? Or Abbott to my Costello, or, (you'll be impressed with this one) Ant to my Dec?
Ok, bedtime, I know where I'm not wanted. sad laugh

Of course, you could be Bodin to my Stolt, or Reingold to my Salazar....or Docherty to my drug rehabilitation clinic, or Lasse to my Champion the wonder horse!

Ok, ok, I'm going.... grin

Or you could be H and I'd do Rachel Stevens (yes you did read that correctly).
