Classical stuff plus Cat Stevens or whatever his bloody name is these days, oh yeah and that Corinne Bailey Rae bird. Now she is gorgeous, if i was a bloke i'd fancy her! Ha Ha! wink

He'd probably like a CD of their instrumental stff such as "The Man Who Walked With Kings", etc.

Corinne Bailey Rae? Good call. I really love her debut album, especially the first track. Can't say I fancy her that much though.

well, i count myself lucky. the last week i have recieved both space revolver, which i have bought on iTunes a while ago, but hadto buy to get the cover and actual cd, and The Flower King, and Frosts Milliontown.
Milliontown was a lot better than suspected, love it really. The Flower King is superb, as expected, but i wish that it had better sound. I think that they made a great leap soundwise from tfk to bitwoa. i guess it helped with tomas on keys instead, and some other things too.. and i think that hasse sings better than on any other tfk release on this one, i can't understand why he didn't get a spot on bitwoa. back to sound, to hear the immense improvements on humanizzimo from the original album to meet the flower kings, i can only imagine how great some of the other tracks would have been.. is the title track featured on live on planet earth? if so, i'll have to order right away.

and nov, I really see why you love the magic circus of zeb so much. amazing track. it's practicall the same melody as on silent sorrow right(the opening lead vs the instrumental section)? and on scanning the greenhouse, of course. really cool to hear it in a slower tempo..

sorry for the messy post, no real coherence, but hey, i'm no writer either..

Hi Didrik, Yes, 'The Flower King' is on 'Alive On Planet Earth', on disc two, and it's fantastic. So you'd better order it! grin

Personally, I think the sound on 'The Flower King' is fine as it is. In fact, all TFK and associated albums that I own have great sound and production to my ears.
Another one of their strengths! wink

Not too sure - a bit too bombastic for me.

To me it sounds great but I grew up with scratchy LPs. I suppose the production is a tad thin but it's all very clear.

I saw them play this track on the UTF tour but didn't know it then. It's a fantastic track and does sound better on Meet TFK.

Yes it is so get your credit card out again wink

Hadn't noticed this. I'll have a listen.

The day we all start posting in Norwegian is the day we can even think about criticising your English. It's excellent Didrik - almost perfect in fact and a lot better than many of us can manage wink

well thanks nov.

hmm, it is really stressfull to be a tfk fan on military wages.. i hardly get by as it is, but, hey, some things are more important than others. ordering now...

well, at least almost the same. check out ss at 4:25..
also there's a reference to scanning the greenhouse on driver's seat. listen to ds at 14.25 and stg at 1:27, right after the most beautiful vocal performance i have ever heard.. of course, if you don't have all these songs on iTunes or something similar, i wont force to use a lot of time fast forwarding through all of it.. just think of it the next time you go through these songs. won't be long if i know you...

You lucky................!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And your poetry is truly wonderful, my little nursey poetess.

What did you think of the Watford - Man U game then?

Well, at least Arsenal won for you. That does us good too. If we can beat Charlton tomorrow - and that won't be easy as they are fighting for points as well - we will go above Bolton. smiley

I thought we should have gone home just after half time. wink No really, we gave it a good go, but Man U are truly fab to watch at the moment, the Watford goal was quite cool though!

Indeed Nov, you are right. Time was when both Everton and Tottenham were part of the 'big five' and could be relied upon to be 'up there' most of the time.
Now, alas, we are too inconsistent. sad
Anyway, good luck to you tomorrow also wink

I thought you played quite well, considering; you dominated for long periods of the second half. Trouble is, Utd are so good at breaking quickly that it is hard to beat them, either by attacking them, or by sitting back.
I don't actually dislike Utd, even though most people do. I admire them for their consistency (and for the way they usually get the upper hand over Liverpool!) and acknowledge their class. (Even if they do rely on one of our 'cast-offs' rather a lot. No sour grapes there!)
I certainly hope they win the championship ahead of Chelsea.
Anyway, as this is officially a FK thread, I just thought I would mention I might possibly play 'Meet The Flower Kings' tomorrow, in honour of, well, nothing in particular, just to keep the happy mood going, whatever the footie results!
Night all. smiley

As I feared, I did play Meet The Flower Kings today, and, as I also feared, I rather enjoyed it!

And now, am just listening to the end of Tales From Topographic Oceans, by another rather famous band.

A good day musically, and footie wise wink
