Pinup Guru - haven't heard it yet. Let's know what you think. wink

Spent the morning listening to all three.

I agree with your thumbs up on Sonic Boulevard and Hydrophonia.

Pinup Guru is keyboards, bass (Jonas Reingold) and drums (Zoltan Csorsz). There's no guitar. I miss that. It not as inspired as Sonic Boulevard. Tomas doesn't get as wild with the keyboards as I'd like, but it is a nice effort nonetheless. Jonas is the most brilliant on this, as he does wonders playing "lead" bass on these songs sans lead guitar.

Can't wait to receive my next batch in the mail:

Roine Stolt - "The Flower King"
Camel - "Rajaz"
Tomas Bodin - "An Ordinary Night In My Ordinary Life"
The Flower Kings - "Adam and Eve"

UPDATE! On second spin, "Pinup Guru" is unbelievable. There are definitely some ELP and Tangerine Dream influences here.

I also meant to say, your next batch of cds are superb. The only one I haven't heard is Camel - Rajaz.
The other three are brilliant. Enjoy! wink

Agreed, it's an amazing album.

Not played it for a while due to some seriously good stuff to catch up on.

Adam and Eve has had one listen to date and needs some more to be honest wink cheesy I think it's very good, so that means (in true TFK's style) it'll be fantastic. grin

Well, that is just one person's perspective.

I remember when I bought Flower Power being initially influenced by people saying that disk 2 wasn't worth bothering with so for many months I didn't which is a travesty really.

I do agree that maybe they should have released it as 2 separate albums as there is just so much to digest on there that it's easier for the casual fan to just play it once and there-after say that it's over-blown.

However, repeated listens reveal more and more.

I thought it was quite a balanced review...not overly critical or overly enthusiastic either...and that's why I thought it worth posting...it seemed to differ from all other TFK reviews I've read, simply because of it's balance smiley
I don't agree with it all by any means though - I don't think that it should have been released as two albums - I love the fact that there is a lot of it to get at - that's one of the attractions of TFK albums for me!!...and the idea that the 2nd side is 'weak' is just plain daft!

I have said before that the albums are too long.

I still think that, even though the content is hugely good despite some filler tracks dotted about.

But it's a minor point I suppose grin Shouldn't really complain about too much music by the band rolleyes

Thanks for the photos, Nov, and for reminding some of us why we keep coming back to this site each and every day.

In a way, I'm glad that TFK are our dirtly little secret, so to speak. If they were immensely popular, who knows what would happen? I hope and pray that they have another 10 or 20 albums in them. Even at one new release per year, Roine would only be 62 in 10 years.

Heck, I've even got my roofer (in his early 60s) digging these guys. He's asking me where I buy this stuff! Love it cool
