They could easily compose a weird, spaced-out, synth led instrumental that would suit the show admirably.
Yes, that idea is appealing! cheesy

How about "Red Alert" on "Rainmaker"?

(it's on your TFK instrumental CD Jo)

That'd be almost perfect!!

Good choice, Nov!
Or, how about 'Venus Fly Trap', which was the first FK track I ever heard. Very mellow, but it would make a nice change. smiley

Actually, I don't see why they don't have a female Doctor sometimes. It would put an interesting twist on things, without a doubt!

Yeah i can just see me as the Doctor ,I would abuse the Tardis big time grin I would have an episode where I would go back to see Steve with Genesis in pre 77 grinhehe grin wink I can see a few probs with this plot line though grin rolleyesage etc grin

Actually Steph, I can see you trying to stick to the script as being more of a problem. I can just imagine you shouting out 'I love you Steve!', instead of sticking to your lines.
Tut tut!
Mind you, how about you as the Doctor, and Steve as your assistant, boots and all? cheesy

FK's doing a Doctor Who theme is an excellent idea but they would have to extent the length of the show to accommodate the average FK track length!

I'm sure you are doing yourself an injustice there, JC4!
Now I really do have the bizarre looks, and I don't have any fashion sense at all, a bit like Sylvester McCoy, so I would fit the bill brilliantly.

Well that is me in my avater. And latest pix of me are on the JC4 Vibes thread so I reckon that gives me first dabs at the first female Doctor Who job! laugh
Nov I will check out the tracks you mentioned. I have only a 2g mp3 player which is stocked to the gills with music as it is but will have a listen to the tracks and report back. Sir! wink

Wouldn't it be great if they wrote an episode of Doctor Who where they travel to a parallel Universe where The Flower Kings are the biggest band on the planet, and the whole episode is backed by their music?
Maybe some existing music, maybe some music they wrote especially for the show.
And make it a two parter. With Brittany Spears as the baddie, who gets blasted into space at the end....
(Sorry, getting carried away now!) cheesy

Calm down my dear chap. It's only a fictional Sci-fi character that has spanned 40 plus years grin
Now I never would have thought I would see the day when FK's and Britney would be the same sentence. Outstanding achievement award goes to Chessman!

Yeah, I can see it now! FK backing BS.

Funny enough, I can imagine how Roine could work his magic on this one. Add about 20 minutes of progressive jamming and high-flying keyboard solos and it just might work.

OOPS! I Did It Again!

I doubt Britany would have either the patience or the wit to understand or perform a song that Roine might write for her. After the first 8 minutes or so of intro, she would get bored, pout, and storm off the set.... grin

Anyway, Dr Who and The Flower Kings sounds like a great title to an episode; maybe the Xmas special. cheesy

I'm thinking of putting on disc 1 of The Tangent's DVD "Going Off On One." I do wish Roine was playing on it though. Too bad he left the band for good it seems. But at least we get to hear him with TFK, etc. The guitarist on the DVD, Krister Jonsson, is fabulous in a different way than Roine, but equally fascinating.

Yes, I like Krister Jonsson's style too. A pity he's left The Tangent himself now. He's also the guitarist with Karmakanic, isn't he? smiley
