I think Marcus is better than some people think. Yes, he is a more straightforward 'rock' drummer, yet he seems to fit in well when watching him on the 'Instant Delivery' DVD.
However, Zoltan is, I admit, rather special. wink

Hi there.
This is my first post here, and I think it's in place with a short introduction. I figured I had to register here after reading the entire 45 page monster over at the old Genesis forum, and I would like to share my thoughts too on this amazing band. Too bad really that the tfk forum is so quiet..
I didn't bother reading all these 13pages, after all i have got a life (really!!)..
Oh, did I mention TFK rocks??

And does anybody know why Zoltan has recorded with the gods again? Seems a bit too weird to me after reading the few last posts. and particularly because the new album supposedly has got a lot of tricky time signatures and everything. Anyway, in studio, I think he is the best choice for a drummer, I must say that markus really gives a good performance on Instant Delivery..

Hi Didrik!

Great to have another TFK fan along for the ride. Here's where I find the Zoltan/Markus info (on the "quiet TFK forum" grin)

http://tfk.andreas-sailer.de/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=737&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0

It's picked up a bit there recently with all this stuff going on but to be honest, I prefer to post about them on other boards to try and introduce new people to the band rather than preach to the converted. I still check in there every day though.

Where are you from? Have you seen them?

Keep checking in here with your thoughts and praise grin

thanks nov. i'll remember to check once in a while too wink

I'm from Norway. Haven't seen them yet no, only the digital version on ID and meet tfk.. They held a concert here in november, but I couldn't go because i'm in the navy this year, and it was in the transfer period between the recruit-training and the actual service.. A real shame I must say, but next time i'll be in the first row, smiling grin

I will check in here every now and then, beacuse the last year, my interest in the flower kings have grown from nothing (i'm kind of a metal, dream theater (and heavier), fan, but a guy at work said I had to listen to this.. I got rainmaker from him, and though I didn't instantly love, i listened to it a lot. strange really, I guess sword of God really helped there, it being a bit heavy and all.. But the last half year, I haven't listened to many bands besides tfk.. It's really cool to meet some fellow fans! Just need to get some money to buy the last few albums now (UTF, SWA, FP). Can't wait!!

They are amazing live. I hope you get to see tham later this year in-between "cruises" wink

That's great, especially when you're more of a metal fan. I'm more of a sympho-prog fan who likes a little bit of metal (well, Dream Theater and Rush type metal rather than Iron Maiden or Metallica)

Those are three incredibly awesome (and LONG) albums and many people would say that they are their best three. You are in for some amazing music wink

Welcome Didrik!
Nice to have you 'on board', and nice to know you have fallen for TFK 'hook, line and sinker'.
As Nov commented, many fans think the three albums you mention are amongst TFK's best.
My favourite TFK album is FP, and my second fave is UTF so, when you get them, you will be in for a huge treat, I promise you! (SWA is pretty wonderful also!)
I have never been much of a metal fan, but I do love Rush. And Porcupine Tree, who have become more metallish these last few years. (And a little Iron Maiden in fact!) But TFK are something rather special indeed.
It has been years since a band excited me the way they do.
Keep posting! (And on The Garden Of Dreams forum. You may see me there.) wink

Well, I have heard you guys rambling on about UTF, SWA and FP, 45 pages of it to be precise..I have heard some bits though, I downloaded solitary shell after hearing a preview on itunes. the most beautiful chorus really got me hooked. what a song! another proof that tfk has their greatest in both short and long songs. i also bought genie in a bottle (amazing! took a few listens tough), rolling the dice and the devils danseschool. all good tunes, i must say. and of course i have heard the truth will set you free on meet tfk and ID. wow. one of the songs that really got me into this band. the last couple of weeks garden of dreams has hit me too. rocking section, weird sections, beautifully emotional sections. a clear favorite. and swa is antoher great epic, gotta love that one too. reallylooking forward to hearing all of the flower king too, i ordered a couple of weeks ago, but mistyped the adress when i ordered it, so it was returned to insideout again. luckily it's on it's way now.

have you ever thought of how tfk simply solves all your problems? half an hour ago, I was tired, a bit sad, i really felt down. i shall not bore you with the details.. but then i just put on theme for a hero, and suddenly it was ok again. it's just not possible not liking this music!
i'm having fun turning my brother into a fan too, we have pretty much the exact same tastes for music, and we listen and play loudly every time we can. He has been a bit reluctant towards flower kings though, much of the same reasons as i was (not heavy, didn't like the name etc), but he is now on his way to happiness nad joysmiley one down, 4.6 billion to go!! grin spread the message!! grin

Rosie,

I'll be more than happy to send you a compilation CD if you PM me your address. I've sent 2 off to Nikki and she now absolutely loves the band. She's started buying their albums and DVDs which could get expensive (just to warn you).

Oh, and by the way, they are from Sweden and some of them aren't that young wink grin

Mind you, Didrik might be a "fit young guy from Norway" - he is in the navy after all wink

I really mean what I say about making a CD for you - it's be a pleasure.

Alright you lot! cheesy

Here it is then! First thoughts on Back In The World Of Adventures and Retropolis! grin

OMG! Awesome!!! grin
But you had an idea i was going to say that eh!

Playing Adventures to death!
Knew World Of Adventures from one of Nov's compilations, but nothing else off it.
Well i love it all!
Being a classical guitar player as a teenager, not so hot now, i loved Kaleidoscope!
Go West Judas is superb, play it loud, oh yes i think so!!
Love the whole thing, and just when i was muttering to myself about how bloody fantastic TFK are .......... the last track, Big Puzzle came on............
Well if i wasn't blown away already, which i was, this just knocked me for six! This track is just one of the most wonderful tracks i've heard in years by anyone. Have played it loads.
You know when a track just seems to fit your situation somehow, and the music is awesome and the lyrics are great and it all just seems perfect?
Thats this track for me. I can't tell you how fantastic i think it is, oh i just did! grin

Retropolis is just brilliant too, only knew the title track courtesy of Nov, but early faves are The Melting Pot and The Road Back Home. But to be honest have been so overwhelmed by Adventures i've only played it about 10 times or so, but this will be rectified soon!

I LOVE THIS BAND!!!!! kiss
See Carl, i did get some treatment for my emoticon excess condition! wink laugh
