I have certainly been careless, but I have got Retropolis which is a favourite of mine.

Just updated my flower kings cd list:

Retropolis
Flower Power
Space Revolver
The Rainmaker
Unfold The Future
Meet The Flower Kings
Brimstoned In Europe
Paradox Hotel
The Road Back Home
The Sum Of No Evil (Limited Edition)

Pretty boring eh Carl? grin

I'll be at this gig with 4 of my very best mates. They were all in Rome with me the other weekend actually.

If the opportunity arises, I'll introduce you to them.

To bloody right mate!!

After receiving BITWOA in the mail this morning, and listening to it while relaxing on the sofa, I can report with absolute delight that this is quite a different TFK gem, in that Jaime Salazar, not Zoltan, is on drums, and Michael Stolt, not Jonas, is on bass, plus no Hasse Froberg.........period, only Roine on vocals.

This album, to me, is every bit the prog rock classic that "Fragile" or "Foxtrot" is. It is truly wonderful from start to finish.

Quote:
As a bit of trivia - Roine did the painting on the cover. Does this guy have no end to his talents?

I never knew that shocked

The man is truly (and disgustingly) talented. I am in awe of him. He is so humble with it all as well and an all round top human being. We e-mail each-other you know wink grin

I think If I have a problem with tsone it's that it actually IS a Yes album not a Flower Kings album. Heck I thought in the last track I could actually hear Jon Anderson.

No bad thing I suppose but maybe the album is a little too retro.

My humble of course.

I had "One More Time" on in the kitchen early this evening and my wife is always making a joke about the Yes similarity with TFK.

I said "I suppose this does sound a bit like Yes" and she said "This IS Yes - it is more like Yes than Yes" grin

I suppose she (and you) do have a point.

As I ALWAYS point out though; they are much better than Yes have been since 1977. Fact (IMHO).

There is rather a lack of BITWOA and Stardust We Are there DM. Needs to be rectified.

Leave "Adam and Eve" until last though (but Carl will disagree with this).

I'm one of those who love the yes influence on TFK. It just adds the icing on the cake, imo of course! smiley

And I always agree with this, Nov. TFK are not only upholding the Yes tradition, they are taking it to new heights, as far as I'm concerned. They have all the good points of Yes, eg: superb musicianship and songwriting, with none of the bad ones eg: Anderson's amazingly trite and pointless (at times) lyrics.
