Hi everyone, have just joined following the changes to the official forum. Was an occaisonal poster on the TFK thread.

Still enjoying Steve's gift pack, especially the TFK Rotherham gig.

I was Paul Ebery on the old forum. This one rejected my name, so I had to plump for an old nickname!

Anyway, still enjoying TFK.

Chessman, 'Alive on Planet Earth' was my first TFK CD following an extract of 'Judas Kiss' on a 'Classic Rock' CD. It took some time to get in to and I have recently started listening to it following my re-enlightenment through the mega thread that Nov started. Haven't looked back since!

Hello Paul! I was wondering where you were.
Have to get used to your new name now!
Funnily enough, I am playing the second disc of the Rotherham gig now. I Am The Sun is halfway through.
It really is a great version. But possibly, my favourite on the whole two discs is the version of Jealousy/What If God Is Alone. They just work so well together.
But then, Touch My Heaven is superb, Pyschedelic Postcard, well, everything really.
It's all good stuff!
Alive On Planet Earth I find amazing.
By the way, talking of that album, do you know where Nothing New Under The Sun comes from?
See if you can guess!

Just listening to 'Nothing New Under The Sun'. Have just looked through the TFK discography and can't find it. Booklet says that it is written by Roine Stolt, so must be off a Kaipa CD?

Give the man a gold star!
Excellent! It is the title track off the second Kaipa album, Inget Nytt Under Solen. Now, I have the boxed set of the first three Kaipa albums, bought for me Xmas 2005 by my wife. It's a great set, and also includes a live cd and a disc of demos too. And a huge booklet with pics and the history of Kaipa.
Funnily enough, the second album has, as its bonus tracks, some of the tracks off the main album, but sung in English. (Early Kaipa always sung in Swedish.)
Nothing New Under The Sun is actually called, in the English translation, Blow Hard All Tradewinds. Strange eh?
The album was first released in 1976, so it's knocking on a bit now! Excellent music though. smiley

Listening to disc 2 of AOPE. Forgotten how good this is! Must be getting the TFK bug in a big way now.

Had to travel a few hundred miles yesterday and had PH and UFTF for company. Listened to PH on journey out and UFTF on the way back. Prefer PH but UFTF is quite good. AOPE is challenging PH at the moment!

Once you get the bug, well, that's that! The game's up! They are one of those classic bands who have now got quite a large discography that doesn't have any obvious weaknesses. So you can change from album to album with confidence.
UFTF is my second favourite TFK album, after Flower Power. But PH is wonderful too! Think I may have to play that again soon.
But for now I will concentrate on AOPE.
Tomorrow you may not see me on here. I am going to visit a mate who likes the same music as me. I am taking him the Genesis boot from the W & W tour. He will enjoy that. (He doesn't know it yet!)

I right-clicked the "other" Nov's avatar and got this link.

It appears his avatar is of none other than our beloved Nov senior with his band The Phantoms.

Who is Brian Spencer? I thought Nov's name was Jon [though I could be wrong].

I hope he gets it all worked out in his favor.

It's me, I'm here (honest smiley). Krissy sorted it out for me and I've just used another picture of me with The Phantoms. Thanks for your concern though.

Brian Spencer is my band-mate in The Phantoms and he hosts the Phantoms web-site (go to www.thephantoms.biz and you'll see what I mean).

Anyway, it's good to be here finally and to see a healthy Flower Kings thread already up and running.

Nikki - how are you getting on with "Instant Delivery"?

Nov

Anyway, it was 5 pints of IPA finished off (literally) with a glass of Talisker malt whisky grin

Where's the "blink" emoticon when you need one? That's mine and Nikki's favourite!!

Nov, regarding your avatar: You don't have to settle for it being scrunched into a square like that. Go to Profile and change the width of your avatar to 100, keeping the height at 65. It should "correct" the image a bit.

That's my two cents..............for now wink

P.S. The Flower Kings rule (including Roine, Hippy Dave)!

What i love about TFK is the music being foreplay seduction!
You can get instant orgasms listening to other bands, but TFK seem to draw you into the magic slowly until you find you can't get back out again, and have no desire to do so!

Still finding new gems in the 5 albums i have, They really do reveal more with every listen - Simply put.....A BLOODY AMAZING BAND! smiley

Sorted! (as you can see)

Hope you like the Hawaiian shirt look (Phil 1980 wink)

Hi Nov,

Good to see that you made it across safely, if somewhat unsteadily!

A TFK thread without you would not be the same.
