Well, today I played The Road Back Home, both discs, for the first time. It took a sizeable chunk out of my afternoon, I can tell you! But it made my Sunday very pleasant indeed!
Of course, it will take a few more plays to really appreciate all the new mixes and extra solos and vocals and things, but first impressions are very favourable indeed! I loved it!

Great stuff Carl! I was wondering what you'd think of it! There's so much extra stuff in there it's hard to know where to start! smiley

Well, just for fun I thought I would try to put the Flower King's nine studio albums in some sort of order.
Yes, I know I've said before it's a practically impossible task for me, and it is. And this order will undoubtedly change on a daily basis.
I think all their albums are very closely matched to be honest, not something that can be said about many other bands/artists. (Not even Genesis!)
But, as this goes to press, my current order for the nine (my Nazgul list) is as follows:

1) Flower Power (Surprise surprise!!!)
2) Unfold The Future
3)Adam & Eve
4) Paradox Hotel
5) Back In The World Of Adventures
6) Stardust We Are
7) The Rainmaker
8) Retropolis
9) Space Revolver

(what does "Nazgul" mean?)

Here's mine:

1) Space Revolver
2) Flower Power
3) Stardust We Are
4) Unfold The Future
5) Paradox Hotel
6) Back In The World Of Adventures
7) Retropolis
8) The Rainmaker
9)Adam & Eve

What's yours Nikki?

(and don't say "a JD and coke"!)

That is an amazing amount of music that you've been exposed to this year Nikki isn't it? Apart from all the other stuff you like as well.

I'm still discovering new things in all those albums and I've been listening to them for 6 or 7 years now and far more than any other band. I never, ever, get bored with any of them. Then there's all the solo albums!!

I see that, like me, you have "A&E" at the bottom but there is still some outstanding music on it. For me, about 60 minutes of it is amazing including the 2 epic of course.

Crumbs Gooner, you have got a lot to look forward to.

Next purchase? - "Stardust We Are" (plus the new one of course).

I suspect that most of the set for the November tour will be from the new album and PH so you'll be alright at the gig wink

Very true indeed, not that I need an excuse to play an album as fantastic as Retropolis. Remember, these 'positions' are very fluid, and can move round quicker than a meat pie in John Prescott's stomach!
I love them all, the difference between them, to my ears, is minimal at best!
Personally, I love 'Flora Majora' on Retropolis, yet it doesn't get mentioned that much really. Great track! wink
