I've been playing Stardust We Are a lot lately- superb album, I think it may well be my favourite as to my ears it flows the best of all their albums. Gave a 4 star review to Retropolis too on Prog Archives. grin

I only gave it 3 stars, if I remember correctly, as, at the time, I wasn't so keen on it. Can you believe that?
Since then it's become a favourite of mine. I suppose I should redo my review!
Having said that, I can't post any reviews on progarchives at the moment. I have reported the problem to the bugs team though. When I type out my review and press submit it tells me there is an internal server error and won't send my review at all.
Yet I can still post on the forums ok. Strange or what? rolleyes

Well, HALLELUJAH Carl!!

Welcome to the digital age. All you need now is something to play it in grin. Here's a hint though.........it won't work on your old turntable at 33rpm wink

Now I really am looking forward to that immensely.

It is fantastic. If you don't like it. I'll send you what you paid for it and eat my hat (if I had a hat).

Wow! That's a real sign that you're becoming a hardcore TFK fan Nikki wink

I'd say that "Monster Within" is one of the hardest tracks of their's to get to grips with. All the different sections actually sound fantastic; it's just getting used to how they all stitch together that's the problem. Lord knows how they compose and remember all this stuff shocked

Looking forward to hearing what you think of the first 2 albums when you get them.

Did you get your Rush tickets?

Wembley Arena? - undecided angry huh cry

And what's with the 'watcha' your step business? Picking up the Italiano to go with the dodgy case are we?

It went great thanks - apart from:

a) The England game huh
b) The clocks going forward.
c) Too much beer

The next one is in Jersey in April so we're all looking forward to that.

OK, just got Paradox Hotel on the weekend - and it's pretty damn good!

Highlights so far : Monsters and Men (with a very Camel-ish guitar/synth melody/solo), Blue Planet (ditto), Pioneers of Aviation...

It's a lot to digest and I'm only on my fourth listen, so I'll have a lot more to report later, I have no doubt!

Nice one, TFK... No Genesis gigs for me this year (Genesis having been deader than a dodo for 30 odd years AFAIC tongue ), but if I manage to catch a FK concert one of these days that'd more than make up for it.

EDIT: Er, doesn't look like they'll be touring any time soon - bit of wishful thinking on my part, here...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZyEdnOhRN8w
(PoA - really gets going around the 6:00 mark).

Most of you must have viewed this before, but seeing as I've been cycling it for the past 30 mn...

Roine practically gets into Uli Jon Roth territory with the wha at the very end - tasty.

Well i remember posting when i first got Space Revolver, that i felt 'Monster Within' was going to take a while! Just not as accessible as some other tracks after a few listens or 10 for me! But don't know what happened yesterday particularly, was listening to it in the car while waiting for the kids to come out of swimming lessons, of all bloody places! rolleyes
It just sort of , well ......... hit me big time really!
Kind of ........ jeez this track is blinding! Why couldn't i get it earlier sort of thing! huh
Played it again on the way home .......... my 7 year old son on hearing the crazy laughing etc in it came out with a classic ......... "Mum, who's this again, that is wicked"! grin
That's my boy! I'm so proud!!! wink laugh

Wangled day off work! Mate to take kids to school!

No, I don't have running water, I sent her back to Sitting Bull years ago. (Always did have reservations about that girl!)
I actually laughed at the England game. One day we just might get back into the top 100 teams of the world; but I wouldn't hold my breath!
Don't get me wrong, I love England, and would love to see them at the top again, but we have to face facts - at the moment we just aren't good enough.
For me, the last great team we had was the mid nineties team led by Shearer and Sheringham.
Time we had that type of commitment again.
And I almost forgot about the clocks going forward.
Good job it wasn't a Monday morning!
As for the beer - that's your own fault, old pal! wink

Since Daniel Gildenlow is kind of like the fifth Beatle to TFK, I figured I'd put this here.

Doesn't Daniel, with glasses on, look a lot like Steve Hackett in the early 1970s?

They will be recording a new album soon and concerts will follow later in the year.

They are absolutely brilliant to watch live. I suggest you get "Instant Delivery" to get a feel for what they are like live. It is brilliant.

He is my favourite guitarist along with Andy Latimer and Steve Hackett.

I really hope they come to Scotland this time - I'm going to see SB in London in May (after I book everything rolleyes) so I don't think I can afford another merry trip to England to see TFK. sad
