Well, seems like you need my help here. The artist is called Ed Unitsky, and he has done some other great artwork too!! Check out his myspace here:

Also, he writes about the entire artwork package of The Sum of No Evil, back, booklet and such things i guess, right here:
http://blog.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=blog.view&friendID=57650259&blogID=299061022

And man, I love the snippets from the coming album!! have listened to it about 20-30 times last couple days.. simply insane, so diverse, i think this may be one of their best albums so far.. man how i love hasse guitar solo imitation on one of the songs approximately in the middle of the thing.. and the first snippet sounds incredible, and the second, and third and all of them!! can't wait for the release!!

Thanks Didrik for the info. Ed Unitsky eh? His work with The Tangent is superb. I have all three of their albums, and they are all packaged wonderfully. I wouldn't have thought 'The Sum Of All Evil' was done by the same artist! He is very talented though, from Belorussia if I remember correctly.
I am rather looking forward to the new album, methinks it may be quite good! wink laugh

Just thought I would let everyone know that today - I played:

The Flower King.

Love that album, especially 'Humanizzimo', and 'The Magic Circus Of Zeb'. Oh, and 'Close Your Eyes', one of the shortest yet most atmospheric of Roine's compositions.
That was the second Flower King's related track I ever heard.
Oh, and the rest of the album isn't too shabby either, 'Scanning The Greenhouse', 'The Pilgrim's Inn', 'The Sounds Of Violence', er, 'The Flower King'...oh bugger, think I've just about covered all of it now! wink STOP PRESS - how could I forget the brilliant 'Dissonata'? shocked

grin grin Set aside a night in the week? Oh please!!! You have no chance!!! You need at least a week, possibly a fortnight to digest it and indulge yourself properly! You'll need three nights just to digest Hasse, so to speak! (Then three for Jonas, three for Zoltan, three for Roine etc etc!!!!)
So go ahead, put a night aside to relax and enjoy it. But then, decide when you're going to watch The Flower Kings! grin

You have great taste, young Lady! Dissonata is a superb track, very powerful, and with an incredibly catchy chorus.
Oh, by the way, when you watch 'Meet The Flower Kings' listen to the background music during the little films inbetween the songs. Most of that comes from 'Hydrophonia', Roine's solo album, the one he did after 'The Flower King'. It's a little different, and Nov may have given you a couple of tracks off it on a compilation, I don't know. But it's well worth having. Totally instrumental, it's both powerful and relaxing in turn.
Another one to put on your wish list! wink

Ok, don't put it on your wish list! (You'll be sorreee!)
So tomorrow night's the night is it? Well, enjoy it! And if you don't appear on here at all, well, we will understand, of course we will. It's so tempting to just play that dvd one more time, hee hee.
See you when we see you then.... cry grin

Well, Nikki must be well away by now, reclining on the sofa, drink (of some sort) in hand, remote in t'other, and The Flower Kings blasting out of the tv.
What a night for the lucky lass!
(I bet she's tempted to play at least parts of it again already!) cheesy

Hell, I'm ready to go put it on myself, and I've got to be at work in an hour. By the way, I received "The Road Back Home" in the mail yesterday and had a chance to sit down and listen to the first disc. For those of you who've not bought this, you don't know what you're missing. And to think that I wasn't going to buy this release because it was just a "Best Of" kinda thing. Every single song has been "re-touched" by Roine, and, as we all know, anything he touches turns to gold. My God, I am in heaven with this album, and I've only gotten through one disc, which, by the way, is over 70 minutes long, as is the second disc. Cinema Show gets royal treatment by Roine and the gang. Some of the songs even have new lead vocals and guitar solos. The keyboard treatments are solid gold prog. I just can't say enough to get you off yer ass and order this thing. Just do it. If you don't like it, you can bill me.....did I just say that. See my lawyer cool

P.S. One of us should have found out where Nikki lives and secretly put a webcam in her living room. I'd love to have seen the permanent grin on her face once she starts watching MTFK.

"But Dave, why would she have a permanent grin on her face?"

Sorry guys, that's just not printable on this forum wink

Wise words indeed mate. It's a great album for sure. Roine stated that it suits all fans old and new, but I would say it is more suited to the fans who know the songs already.

Being a relative newcomer, I probably don't hear the subtleties that you do...but a fine album I agree. cool

Alright you lot!
Well, i didn't get in from work till well gone 9pm! So by the time i'd had a shower etc it was almost 10pm before i sat down to watch Meet The Flower Kings! But after the day i'd had, i was determined to still watch it!
Well, it was just what i needed!

Started off like this ......User Image
and ended up like this .....User Image

Just breathtaking! What would i have done to have been part of that audience! rolleyes Now that's definitely not printable!
Carl, i can see why you love this so much. It was fascinating, there's definitely a quality about this that makes it stand out from anything i've ever seen from a band on DVD.
Dave, you're right, a web-cam in my living room would have given you all a laugh thats for sure! laugh
There were plenty of ooohs and ahs over Hasse!
Is he just a total God in this or what!
That jump about he does at the start of Don't Let The Devil In ...... WOW!
Could have done with a bit more footage of Jonas though i thought! Zoltan is like a naughty kid in the clips most of the time! Great!
What freaked me out was the little blond kid at the end! That kid is a double of my son George! I kid you not! I had to look twice, i'm not joking! shocked
Anyway it was brilliant!
I loved all the bits in the U.S. as i worked and travelled extensively there in 1989 and have done the Pacific Coast Highway myself, and also the whole San Francisco thing. Huge solo work and travelling epic, some other time! Just bought back some nice memories of one of the best years of my life.
But back to the DVD, do you know the very best bit ........ cos i was so late starting to watch it, i've only watched the first one!!! So have the second one to follow tomorrow night! grin
Great! I love this band! smiley

1. Is that dust coming out of your couch as you jump up and down on it in ecstasy?

2. shocked

3. I always smile when I see that blonde boy. The music playing is so serene. I also notice that the boy's image fades over Roine's, making me think the boy might be his.

4. In 1989, I was a single man of 31, living in SoCal. I currently live about 60 miles inland from the Pacific Coast Hwy with me beautiful wife smiley

5. You will have an equally lovely time this evening too, it seems, as disc 2 is as wonderful as disc 1. cool

I just knew you'd like it Nikki! I think part of its attraction (apart from the obvious music) is the filming of it. The picture seems to have an almost surreal quality to it at times, as if a special 'soft' filter is being used on the cameras, whilst at the same time the picture is ultra sharp. Oh, I know what I mean anyway!
It's great to still have the second disc to look forward to. They really are both equally excellent. Not sure who the blond lad is, but one of the dancers, the girl I think, is Hasse Bruniusson's daughter, or relation of some sort. Read the credits at the end.
Interesting you say it could have done with a bit more footage of Jonas - imo it could have done with a lot more footage of Tomas. Count how many times he's playing a solo yet not in the shot!
And Daniel Gildenlow fares even worse. Still, these are minor gripes. It's a stunning performance from prog's greatest active band. (Imo of course!)
I can't wait to hear your comments on 'Humanizzimo'! You should love that! grin
