Got to say I love PT as well. I have read that Steven Wilson isn't a fan of TFK though, which is a pity. Of course, the two bands do have something in common - they're both great!
Maybe they should join together and give themselves a new name; The Porcupine Kings? Flower Tree? Both sound ok to me!
Was playing our Roine again today, this time it was the first Tangent album, The Music That Died Alone. And rather spiffing it was too!
(Bloody brilliant in fact!) cheesy

Thanks Nikki!
What a wonderful gesture on your part to share it with us! (Even though it's as useful to me as an ashtray on a motorbike as myspace won't load on my comp in under ten hours! )

Getting excited now are we? Me? I can take it or leave it myself..... grin

Thanks Nikki! Sounds like it's gonna be a winner! It doesn't sound as proggy as I'd expect, considering Roine told us it was going to be super proggy, but it'll top anything else by any other band coming out this year though, for sure. Looking forward to the new Karmakanic. C'mon Jonas, it's been too long!

In Wales for a few days! Just got on here for a few mins! grin
The bits of the new album sound great hey Dave! smiley
Carl, i know you can't see it cry but then it will be more of a suprise eh?! rolleyes I know, that doesn't make it better does it ..... undecided
Nip round yer mates or something!
Anyway just to say that Roine's (Well TFK to all intents and purposes!) 'The Flower King' arrived just before i left, so was able to have a listen on the way down!
It came in this really nice open out case thingy, wasn't expecting that, with a poster and postcard things and a really fab booklet etc! grin Fab!
God, if TFK had been making albums in the 70's, with the gatefold sleeves they would have had, i'd never have made it out of my bedroom!!! laugh

Have to go now! Back soon ish! rolleyes

Or has it been re-released, and repackaged?
Anyway, you are a lucky, lucky.....girl!
And I'm not jealous in the least....(never liked the Welsh, or nurses for that matter....put the two together and what do you get?) grin grin grin

Now listen here, Bedpan Bertha, (from Merthyr) don't get uppity with me when you already hold the upper hand (or The Flower King) over me. Special number on the back is it? There's lovely bach!
Of course, you may not like the album - it is rather rubbish really - and then you will have to dispose of it carefully, in an eco-friendly way. (You do have my address, don't you?) grin
Ok, I suppose the Welsh and nurses aren't that bad really....except when they are called Nikki and drink Magners at the drop of a hat! tongue

Does anyone know who designed the cover for 'The Sum Of All Evil'?
It's another stunning piece of work, as you would expect from The Flower Kings! wink

1. Nikki, like I've said before, I'd love to see your face when you first view MTFK on DVD. I guarantee that you won't want anyone to bother you for days, because you're gonna want to watch it over and over and over......

2. I'm still looking for anything on the artist who did the artwork for "Sum Of No Evil." Nothing yet.

3. INFO ON "Sum Of No Evil"
From InsideOut Music - Prog label for many of today's BEST prog bands; ie, Spock's Beard, Fish, Dream Theater and TFK. http://www.insideoutmusic.com/home.html

"We're working on 6 songs," says Roine, "all just working titles, "Love Is The Only Answer" a 26 min epic, very symphonic in the vein of early TFK songs (think Stardust or Garden Of Dreams); "Trading My Soul" cinematic melancholic ballad, big sound; "Brimstoned Again "a Tomas Bodin instrumental with frantic drumming from Zoltan, as prog as it gets; "We're Life In Motion" very upbeat and positive melodic TFK'ish 13 min track, possible closer of the set; "Dukular, a very keyboard-oriented 13 min track that is close to early ELP, Genesis and Refugee, great catchy hook, Hasse sings; "Sum Of No Reason" - a heavy riffing and very proggy melancholic 12 min tune, about religion, business and wars, think UK with Bozzio, lots of odd time signatures and polyrhythm, drop-tuning etc.

Well, seems like you need my help here. The artist is called Ed Unitsky, and he has done some other great artwork too!! Check out his myspace here:
http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendID=57650259

Also, he writes about the entire artwork package of The Sum of No Evil, back, booklet and such things i guess, right here:
http://blog.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=blog.view&friendID=57650259&blogID=299061022

And man, I love the snippets from the coming album!! have listened to it about 20-30 times last couple days.. simply insane, so diverse, i think this may be one of their best albums so far.. man how i love hasse guitar solo imitation on one of the songs approximately in the middle of the thing.. and the first snippet sounds incredible, and the second, and third and all of them!! can't wait for the release!!
