Even from a big FK sceptic as I was, The last four tracks are immense, as I previously said.

Quite an incredible album Nikki.
Was this the album at the HMV in Manchester? I can't remember.

Nikki

That's a great review after only a couple of listens. I've been playing this album a lot in the past couple of days to refresh my memory whilst you are getting used to it.

This comment intrigued me:

Quote:
Upset cos i'm sure i won't get to ever see them do any of this live now!

Why do you think that? They are as likely to play "Garden of Dreams" (or sections from it) as they are any of their back-catalogue. This being one of their most loved pieces, I reckon they will revisit it at some point. Wouldn't that be fab smiley

It kind of feels like you've been "climbing a mountain" with The Flower Kings this year and finally reached the summit (climax?) with Flower Power. It really seems to have energized you in the most positive way which is brilliant. They make me feel really alive as well and bring so many positive emotions to the fore, including involuntary burst of happy tears when you least expect them (as you said).

You must get the "Meet The Flower Kings" DVD now and then you can actually watch them playing (most of) "Garden Of Dreams" absolutely beautifully. I watched some of it tonight. These guys are disgustingly talented wink

Did you see that artwork from the new album I posted earlier wink

Absolutely essential modern prog masterpiece.

I call it "gothic prog". Kind of a darker sounding Trespass or Nursery Cryme.

I haven't heard "Epilogue" though. What's that like?

Many thanks. I'll look forward to that.

Hopefully it'll arrive by Thursday as we're staying with friends up in Hebden Bridge (Yorkshire) for a few days and I can take it with me.

On the Friday, I'm heading further North to play at a Wedding with The Phantoms at a posh hotel in the Lake District which should be fun.

Currently playing "Rhythm Of The Sea". Isn't that keyboard run absolutely gorgeous in this? Tomas Bodin is my favourite keyboard player since Tony Banks because he plays in the same way as Tony - tastfull, intelligent and brilliant.

Welcome to Yorkshire, Nov. You are about an hour away from me. Shame you are not closer. The beer in Otley is damn fine.

Enjoy the Lakes.

OMG, Nikki, I thought you'd already seen "Meet The Flower Kings" on DVD. It's everything I can do not to play this every week. It's too good for words; "ORGASMIC" as you would put it.

It's one thing to hear these great musicians through your stereo, but to see them actually playing this stuff, as good or better than you hear them in the studio, is nothing short of amazing.

I envy you that you're a MTFK virgin, as we all once were. To see it for the first time, I wish I could be there to witness that Nikki.

That DVD, to me, is the icing on the TFK cake, but I'm hoping that I get that same feeling with their new CD in September.

I'm sure losing my MTFK virginity will be an infinitely better experience than losing the other kind was! laugh laugh
Sorry couldn't resist that! grin
