Listening to the album now. So far I am pleasantly surprised.

After just one listen, I completely agree with you. The lyrical content of the new album hits home with me on a very large scale. The music, as usual with The Tangent, is some of the best out there. Kudos to Andy for having the balls to say it like it is and put it to music.

Well, I've given the whole thing a listen all the way through today, and thoroughly enjoyed it. I've played the second movement a few times by itself, because I liked it so much. In spite of some rather downcast lyrics, the music is very upbeat and enjoyable. A nice juxtaposition. wink

Most Tangent albums have been growers in the past, so there's still more time for this to sink in of course. But initial impressions are positive.

Hackett posted this today. Pretty cool!!.................

I've been very busy since getting back from tour, dealing with all those things you can't do when away, working on a DVD of the Hammersmith show and starting to record a new album (lots of dream material...) Had time to see some pals too, including Ant Phillips, John Wetton, and as in this three Steves photo, Steven Wilson and Steve Rothery. Always great to exchange thoughts and catch up. Looking forward as well to getting back on the road next month...

Warmest wishes to all,

Steve

After having been a member of Sylvan for six years, guitar player Jan Petersen has left the band.

I don't think this news is a huge setback for the band.

The news coming out of camp Sylvan is very sparse these days. Hopefully they are working on new material.

Anyone in the New Jersey area?

This would definitely be a great progfest to attend in October

Major Tom is looking his age of late. Looking at him now, it's hard to believe that some of the best classic rock of the 70s came from this man.

Theres definitely something deeply unsettling about icons looking their age, even though he looks healthier now than he did at the height of the cocaine habit.
