Norwegian band Motorpsycho are releasing a new album tomorrow, called Still Life with Eggplant.

I only know of them from last year's concept album The Death-Defying Unicorn which was very cool indeed if a bit over-long in places for my tastes, but I believe they have an extensive and eclectic back-catalogue. I've heard some songs from this new album and it's made me want to buy it.

Here is the closing song "The Afterglow":

The band is a hard-rock prog outfit with various other styles thrown in at random, like country, heavy metal, jazz and others...

As Noni had mentioned a few days ago, Willowglass has a new album coming out in May. Steve Unruh, the mastermind behind the band Resistor is a guest on the album. Here is a link to some audio samples

Digging the Corvus Stone debut CD. Looking forward to the 2013 release. Definitely an original sound on every song. Highly recommend checking them out if you're not familiar with the band. If you like BunChakeze, you'll enjoy Corvus Stone wink

Storm Thorgerson, whose album cover artwork includes Pink Floyd's The Dark Side of the Moon, has died aged 69, the band's management has confirmed.

A childhood friend of the founding members of the band, he became their designer-in-chief, fashioning a string of eye-catching creations.

Most-famously he designed the prism spreading a spectrum of colour across The Dark Side Of The Moon.

His credits also include albums by Led Zeppelin, Peter Gabriel and Muse.

RIP cry

Wow. Very sad. I remember his name coming into prominence during The Wall era, around 1979, for his bizarre drawings and caricatures, which came to life for the live show. He also photographed the Band On The Run and Peter Gabriel "Melt" album covers.

Here is a list (not sure if complete) of the album cover artwork he is responsible for http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Albums_with_cover_art_by_Storm_Thorgerson

Jack o' The Clock have released their third album, All My Friends.

Back in 2011, their second album, How Are We Doing And Who Will Tell Us, was released. I only discovered it last year, but was rather impressed.

The new album lives up to expectations. As one site said, it's "a cross between Henry Cow and Gentle Giant, with a mix of New Weird Americana".

Here's the cover:

And here's a clip (not the best song on the album, by the way):

Some Pallas news on a new album this year. cheesy

Just a quick update on the new album. As any of you recently visiting the Pallas Official page will have seen, recording is going full steam ahead on the followup to XXV. We are hoping to have the new album out in early autumn and as with XXV we hope to have a sampler track from the album available for free download in the next couple of months and will let you know the details as soon as humanly possible. We are also talking to promoters about a full Pallas European tour very soon and are also planning a number of festival appearances next spring and summer. Keep your ears and eyes open for new information quite soon.

IQ's next cd will not get released till early 2014 now due to busy lives and touring Europe!.... I heard a sound clip of YouTube of a possible new track but it is in development stage only and could change on the album!.. smiley
