CITIZEN CAIN - Skies Darken / PRICE: GBP 9.99
This is Citizen Cain's sixth and most powerful release yet, and their first album for over 10 years. Citizen Cain originate from Scotland, and feature Stewart Bell (keyboards/drums), Cyrus (bass/lead vocals) and Phil Allen (guitars/backing vocals). Cyrus’s vocals will always be reminiscent of Peter Gabriel, yet the band sound fresh and original on today's Prog scene, going to places in their music that few band's can. Yes, there are the occasional Genesis references, but Skies Darken pushes the boundaries further than on any other release, maintaining melodies throughout. It's a dark album that draws you in, and holds you there...highly recommended! Hear the track 'The Hunting Of Johnny Eue' from the new CD at www.progrock.co.uk/player.htm.

GALAHAD - Battle Scars / PRICE: GBP 10.99
Following on from the hugely impressive ‘Empires Never Last’, the new album contains even more diversity and ventures further in to a few musical territories just touched upon on ‘Empires’. Their most contemporary sounding album with a few nods to the past! Includes a bonus 2012 re-recording of 'Sleeper', one of Galahad's old classics, to celebrate their 25 years plus of making music.

FLOWER KINGS - Banks Of Eden (Special edition CD+CD Enhanced Digipak) / PRICE: GBP 14.99 (special edition) / GBP 10.99 (standard)
This is an impressive way to announce the band's return after five long years of silence! 'Banks Of Eden' is a magnificent musical mix of symphonic progressive rock with jazz and blues with influences of Frank Zappa, The Beatles, Igor Stravinsky, Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin, Yes and Genesis. The CD opens with a 25 minute epic entitled ‘Numbers’, a song that represents both what’s new in the band and what the fans would expect from The Flower Kings. And whilst all the familiar elements are contained within the five songs on this album, there are several unexpected twists and turns!

ASTRA - The Black Chord / PRICE: GBP 10.99
Much anticipated second album from this hotly tipped progressive rock band. Like a Meddle-era ‘Floyd supercharged by a Mahavishnu-intensity! This is a record at home in 1972 as it is in 2012. Well, that was a pretty impressive list, CountingOutTime!

To make things a little simpler, here are the major releases for (roughly) the month of September:

1. Kaipa - Vittjar (August 27th)
2. Big Big Train - English Electric (Part One) (September 3)
3. Marillion - Sounds That Can't Be Made (somewhere in September)
4. The Pineapple Thief - All The Wars (September 3)
5. Muse - The 2nd Law (October 1)

I've left out a few, such as Mystery's new album (September 10, I believe), although I agree with Marygold that the YouTube trailer sounds great.

(Of course, there's also the 40th anniversary edition of King Crimson's Larks' Tongues in Aspic, to be released on October 15th - a bit too long away to really qualify. Still, if you like, you can order a 13 disk version. Yes, 13 discs. The album's 46 minutes long. Go figure.)

Sorry to hear this. I wasn't very impressed with their last outing, as compared to the previous two.

Now, do you have any news re: Apple Pie from Russia? Been a long time between albums......... sad
