Question for dm if you don't mind:

Is there more of the Guildford 1973 footage, other than Arubaluba and Never Let Go from the Footage DVDs?

Clearly the soundtrack has been replaced by the studio albums, does the master footage have a live soundtrack?

Hi All.....couple of things....I'm not aware of any further footage from Guildford, although that doesn't mean it doesn't exist. It looks as the band synched to the original recordings so if was just for promo usage, it's likely that just a couple of tracks were filmed.

Secondly.....Shane..anything come of your "project" huh!!!

Hi:
Those were the only two songs filmed. And although they appear to be live, they're actually just miming to a playback. Andy was very happy to have uncovered the original 16mm Arubaluba film in his attic when we were searching for stuff for Curriculum Vitae. It probably hadn't been seen for 30 years. So, no, there is no live audio for those 2 tracks.

The other thing that he found in the attic along with the Guildford footage was some 16mm film which they use to project behind the band while they played live, maybe around the time of Snow Goose or Moonmadness. It was all very psychedelic - we almost used a clip of it in CV. Anybody remember ever seeing that?

Best;
Dave

The only films I remember are one on the ' Moonmadness ' tour of camels in the desert before the band came on, which got a very loud cheer! There was also a screen behind the band on the ' Rain Dances ' tour. There was definitely an image of the RD cover, as I have a photo of it somewhere. Not sure what the rest of the film was, as I was too busy watching the band! smiley smiley

Thanks Dave, very cool.
I did think it would be a nightmare syncing unless the band were miming, but then I saw the crowd shots which looked to be a genuine audience and that got me wondering. I assume the same goes for the two Nude promo video tracks.

Snowgoose tour was before my time, but I've seen some nice HQ photos of the projections taken by a chap who shared a flat with Andy. I assumed the projections were slides rather than moving images. Generally there seems quite a dearth of footage and pictures from the early years.

Sorry if this is the wrong place to post this, but I'd really like to hear your comments about a band "Interphases" formed by some German friends of mine who are based in Stuttgart. I met them over 25 years ago when my band was involved in a 'rock exchange' with some German bands..they came to the UK to do gigs with us, we went to Germany to do gigs with them...
They have recently recorded an album "Psychmovie", and have just posted a clip on YouTube here..

As I said would love to hear what you think!
Cheers Peter

The album was called 'Dweller on the Threshold' and I bought this around 1981. Track list is below:

1 The Dweller 4:56
2a The Glamour Of Emotions: Fear 1:48
2b The Glamour Of Emotions: Love 3:00
2c The Glamour Of Emotions: Breathe Out 2:13
3 Forgive 3:48
4 The Glamour Of Nations: The Urania Song 2:05
5 Learning To Live 4:47
6 The Glamour Of Material Possession: Margarita 3:40
7 The Glamour Of Magnetic Attraction: Pulu Pshu 4:26
8 The Angel 4:43
9 Psalm 23

I know long have the vinyl but to be honest I never got into the album and Andy IIRC did not have a lot to do on the album. AFAIK it has never come out on CD but I could be wrong.
