Thanks, although our show started just after 8.00 and was finished by 9.50. The songs missing from the St. Albans set were, Lost and Found, Echoes and Whispers in the Rain, plus Rhayader and Rhayader Goes to Town, 2nd encore.

One (of many wink) reasons that I'm not keen on Festivals, is that most of them involve shorter sets from bands. I'd rather see the full set of bands that I really like.

Thanks for the list Steve. The one we got that you didn't was 'Whispers in the Rain'. I agree with you about festivals, much rather see a proper gig from a favourite band.

Was it really 70 minutes at Ramblin' Man Peter? Well, even if it was you're not paying £70 for just Camel! I saw a setlist online and thought perhaps it would be 90 minutes. Noticed they didn't play any 'Dust and Dreams' songs, and none of the festivals got 'Long Goodbyes'. I guess they thought 'Lady Fantasy' would be a better ending for festivals, which doesn't surprise me.

Fans of Camel and Andy Latimer's guitar style will undoubtedly enjoy the music of Odyssice. They're an instrumental band from the Netherlands. They have two studio albums and a couple EPs. All of them are great.

Yes Squigs, 70 minutes according to two who went. I know the ticket price includes other bands, but there wasn't anyone else on the bill I was particularly interested in seeing (not to say I wouldn't have enjoyed them). Camel would've played longer if they'd been allowed to. Personally I would've prefered the Dust and Dreams medley to Lady Fantasy.

I'm the same, and prefer gigs anytime to festivals. I would also prefer 'Dust and Dreams' to 'Lady Fantasy'. Like lots of bands Camel seem reluctant to drop their older stuff from gigs. It's a shame when there are so money un-played gems. I blame the majority of fans!

Jason Hart has confirmed Camel were alloted 80 minutes at the Ramblin' Man Festival and they used every second.

Camel are one band who try to spread their set across the years. Whilst the tour just finished featured nearly all of 'Moonmadness', there was at least one track from every album of the MCA/Decca years (at St Albans anyway), excluding 'The Single Factor', even though the choices were somewhat predictable, but there's always at least one surprise/resurrected number.

Those who have discovered the band only in recent years, probably can't get enough of Lady Fantasy et all ... and who'd deny them? Seems uncanny now that LF was dropped completely from 1976 to 1984.

The Traveller, River Man, Autumn, Six Ate, Curiosity, Freefall, Supertwister, First Light, Metrognome, Summer Lightning, The Sleeper, Who We Are, Remote Romance, Lies, Manic, Camelogue, In the Arms of Waltzing Frauleins, Pressure Points, Straight to My Heart, Lawrence, A Nod and a Wink, Squigely Fair, After All These Years and more all waiting in the wings!

So it was 80 minutes...

I would probably deny those newcomers! cheesy laugh Seriously though, I think that it's the same old crowd who think the old stuff is the best. Then they use newer songs for a toilet / beer break. They really ought to give it a chance.

Couldn't help noticing that the majority of people who turn out to see Camel (in the UK at least) are (like me) male and over 40. I'm sure Camel do have a good following with people of a younger age and fairer sex, it's just that they find it uncool to be seen at a gig where the majority of the audience is old enough to be their father (or grandfather).

CAMEL'S NEW KEYBOARDIST

It gives us enormous pleasure to announce that the 2016 Camel tour in Japan will mark the debut of keyboard maestro, Pete Jones. Recently lauded by Prog magazine as a name to watch this year for his Tiger Moth Tales project, Pete has been building a reputation as a multi-talented performer across the genres for over a decade, from the X-Factor finals to his solo appearances showcasing his own compositions with his fluid playing on keyboards, guitar, saxophone and expressive vocals.

Born in 1980, Pete lost his sight to Retinoblastoma when he was but fifteen months old. Clearly a child of remarkable ability, he was undeterred by this challenge in his young life. Pete's musical talent became his vision and by the ripe old age of 4, he had his first piano. Says Pete: “Music has always been a huge part of my life. How much of that was influenced by my sight loss is impossible to say, but I've always had a knack of picking up music by ear pretty quickly". In fact, Pete has an uncanny ability to play by ear and the band already sound as if they've been a unit for forty years. Andrew, Colin and Denis are looking forward to upcoming rehearsals with Pete and then hitting the road as a fighting fit four-piece band in Japan this coming May. Who knows what may come after? The one thing we know for certain is that Camel fans all over the world will welcome Pete Jones with open arms for which their ears will be be richly rewarded.

Nice!! I have all the TMT discs, including his live one and his trib to Genesis disc. I know many of you've not heard of Tiger Moth Tales, who is in essence an amazing multi-instrumentalist named Pete Jones. I'm so happy for Pete, and for Camel too. Can't wait to hear what's next cool

Just hope he doesn't change the Camel sound too much. Obviously Pete's been brought in because Ton won't fly. Ton's been great with Camel on recent tours though.

The praise that Andy gives Pete lends an eye to how he surely appreciates his keyboard prowess. Andy would never let Camel's sound be altered, I don't believe.

Do you mean the words in the CP statement? Andy obviously didn't write those words. Part of it says, " Andrew, Colin and Denis are looking forward to upcoming rehearsals with Pete ". I would say they're Susan's words.
