I feel for you mate, I'm sure Camel would sell out in Scotland as anywhere else.
Only 4 UK gigs for 2014, and the nearest to me is Birmingham, on a Monday rolleyes
As much as I'd love to see them again, the logistics and costs of having 2 days off work, train fares, hotel costs etc for I imagine the same show as I saw a few weeks ago, has decided it for me this time.

I have however, as compensation, just booked tickets for Caravan in Salisbury and The Australian Pink Floyd in Bristol, for less than the Camel gig would have cost me.

Sorry Andy & Co. sad

Ah well, I don't care if it is the same Camel show again Mal! wink smiley I would guess the second half will be a bit different though.

In all honesty, I'm surprised they're travelling so much. I never imagined they would do so many gigs in a short space of time. Certainly glad there are more UK gigs next year anyway, and hope I can make it to see Camel again!

Squigs, I think CP should label this as England and not the UK as that implies visiting more than England. I raised the same point many years back when Marillion were not touring Scotland yet could go to South America and felt as a fan that I and others up north were being somewhat cheated when we also contribute to the band's income. It is so good to see bands like Pineapple Thief and The Enid continuing to apply their sounds in Scotland and other bands have simply never done this other than perhaps as a support way back in the 80s e.g.IQ for one. I am not against travelling but as Mal pointed out, it can be a rather expensive exercise to go and see a band down South with all the costs involved. Perhaps Andy and Camel will consider coming North and perhaps if Shane has a wee word in Andy's ear then they can come up and even stay at my place smiley)

Well yes, should be England rather than UK really. I was prepared to travel to London for the last tour though, without staying the night. Sadly didn't make it though due to the storm on 28th. Oct. Aren't there any late trains from Sheffield you could catch?

Whilst I warmly welcome the 2014 Camel dates, I think a lot of fans were expecting them to cover towns and countries missed out on the recent tour. Strangely, three of the four 'UK' dates are in towns in regions where they've just played! And even Cambridge is less than an hour from London. I suppose CP would say it's in the hands of the promoter/booking agent. But someone must have an explanation why Scotland, Wales, the South-West and the North-East haven't been covered.

Surely most of these places are within travelling distance though? Heck, people have come over from other countries to see them in England!

From previous lists, I think 'Elke' and 'The White Rider' are wrong. Anyone else remember hearing them?

Nice summary.

Couple of little corrections: White Rider was not played at Harrogate (or anywhere else). You have Echoes listed twice for Salisbury.

I was at Harrogate and can confirm that White Rider definitely was played.
