IT'S OFFICIAL!
Camel will embark on a brief tour in the autumn 2013, performing The Snow Goose for the first time since the Royal Albert Hall show in 1975, in loving memory of Peter Bardens and in celebration of Camel's long and illustrious musical career.

Confirmed dates are as follows:

Friday, 25th October 2013: Holland, Groningen, Oosterpoort, Main Hall
Saturday, 26th October 2013: Holland, Amsterdam, Rabozaal
Monday, 28th October 2013: England, London, The Barbican

We will add dates as they are confirmed. We will link the performance halls to the ticket sales as they become available.

Why do the keep saying it is first time since RAH?!

yesir one of the groovy things about camel is the amazing keyboard players passing thu the revolving doors. remember david sinclair on the breathless tour? and richie close? but if i had to pick one replacement for peter b it would be leblanc, his licks on the rajaz tour took me to a new planet

Guy would be my choice too.

Apart from Pete Bardens....... Who would you consider to be the best keyboard player to replace him. I only saw Camel once live in Sheffield and was disappointed hearing Ton Scherpenzeel play, but to give Ton a chance he probably did not have a lot of time to practice any of the tracks!.... Ton will probably be my first choice, followed by Guy Leblanc and Jan Schelhaas!...

Guy LeBlanc would be my favourite choice. He fits in so well with Camel. smiley

Also really like Micky Simmonds, Ton Scherpenzeel and Foss Patterson.

This is rather strange! undecided

I'm quite curious as this is Camel's ( Andy Latimer) first come back since 2003, why so many concerts so close together? undecided... Andy was well known for his stage exhaustion playing extremely well with so much emotion!.. Having 3 gigs so close together with a possibility of more on the way? Is this a good idea!?..... shocked

Was only expecting a few one off gigs at this early stage, which would test his health!..... I suppose we do not know yet! how Andy is feeling!... It does mention in the news letter that Andy has a few drawbacks from his illness!... So for me I am surprised!...... smiley

You're right Noni, especially considering the trip from Holland before the Barbican performance.

I know what you mean Noni. I thought an album would come before a tour. Do find the closeness of dates a little worrying, and thought they wouldn't involve too much travelling.

Yes, Squigelyfox your right....smiley When I first heard about these other concerts other than the Barbican, I did not know close together they will be!... huh Now will these others, be of the same length and duration?..... It's almost like an athlete training , you need to build your strength up first, before the final event!..... The problem with Andy as mentioned in my previous post, is how much emotion he puts into his playing. We don't know how much energy is being used because of this!... Maybe instead of 2 sets, he will have 4.. Not sure?.. Andy should play a few before the Barbican to test his stamina through out the event!... Maybe he will!.... wink smiley The Barbican is a good event, so I hope he knows what he has put him self into!.... I'm sure he has trained at home for the past 10 years of silence and fills ready to produce again!.... cheesy

A good concert to start off with would be the Summers End or something similar as they play around 40 - 45 minutes at a time!.......... wink

This week's Camel album is Rajaz - an album which started off for me as disappointing but, like many albums, sounds better with each listen. I wouldn't put it in with their best work but it's still wonderful. smiley
