Ok need a little help here. I have been clearing out one of my hard drives and came across a folder I put some songs into 4 years ago. One of the songs is called 'Never let Go' and before you all come rushing to say it is the classic song from the very first album, this is a completely different song and by CAMEL. It is beautiful but I cannot recall where I got it from. It is not on any album and wondered if anyone can shed some light on the song and its origins. It is fairly modern in the style of Dust and Dreams/Harbour of Tears era with lovely choral synths backing Andy's plaintive vocals.

It sounds like the song Andy put on the official Camel site when Peter Bardens passed away. It's a totally different song to the one on the first album, and is indeed beautiful. smiley

Squigs, you are probably smack on the money here. It does now strike a chord with me when Peter passed away and Andy did indeed put a song on the official site. It is a beautiful song indeed.

Wow....just found this!!!!!!!!

Dave Sinclair (Sad Eyes) ft Andy Latimer !!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cDQO0LwNvVA

Stream is the new studio album of Canterbury songwriter and ex Caravan / Matching Mole / Camel keyboard player, Dave Sinclair.

Recorded between 2006 - 2010, the album was intended for global release in 2011, however has only subsequently been given a limited release in Japan. It is completely unavailable outside of Japan in any format and with rumours of difficulties at the record label, the situation is likely to be unresolved for a long time to come.

The album features high profile guest musicians: Robert Wyatt (Soft Machine), Andy Latimer (Camel), Annie Haslam (Renaissance), Dave Stewart & Barbara Gaskin (Stewart & Gaskin) and Jimmy Hastings.

That's a shame if there are distribution issues limiting this album's availability.
That's not to say I would rush out to buy it, but considering Dave Sinclair was, for me, the best thing about early Caravan. And looking at that cast of characters, it's certainly an album I would consider getting.
(I wonder if Andy plays on the whole album.)

Slightly off track here, but:

There are, as far as I know, three tracks off Sinclair's Stream album featured on YouTube. Far and away the best, I believe, is "Man Is The Child", with great vocals by Annie Haslam and wonderful flute work by Jimmy Hastings.

Here it is:

No Latimer, though, so yes, I've highjacked the thread, I'm afraid. Still, it really is rather nice... laugh

That's a remake of the first movement of Caravan's Dabsong Conshirto from Cunning Stunts. Really beautiful.

I think Andy recorded his parts on Sinclair's album prior to working on Masquerade with me, although I'm not 100% sure. Too bad about the distribution - I was wondering whatever happened to that album.

Would have been nice to hear more of Andy on the Sad Eyes track. I mean if you're going to have Andy as a guest, then you might as well let him go crazy. A 4 or 5 minute solo would have been great smiley

I'm still watching the news page on their official site almost daily. But I'm beginning to feel restless. 'News coming soon', it says. Soon? How long is soonhuh Still hoping though.
