Listened to 'Nude' yesterday. Still can't get over how crackingly loud Andy Ward's snare is on the album. Love the deliberate simplicity of his playing on 'City Life' - basically just bass drum and snare throughout.

Latimer's solo on 'Lies' is sublime .... one of best guitar solos you'll ever hear. Superbly constructed and played with incredible emotion, economy, technique and tone. He really makes the guitar a 'voice' in this one. How can any warm blooded being not be moved?

I love it. Wonderful!!! smiley

Well put, Peter. I noticed the simple drumming on "City Life" as well. He continues the pattern even when the time signature becomes odd.
And regarding "Lies", couldn't have said it better. The fast "lick" on 3:43 may be my favorite of all times.

It's my favorite Camel album these days.
I love the mood changes, and the middle (soft) part is great as well, things like "Landscapes", "Pomp & Circumstance", "Reflections"... if there was any section of music which makes you feel you're on a deserted island, this is it (well, that's the story of this album, so it makes it pretty easy!

If you have never heard the Julia Downes track, "Don't talk to Strangers", which was produced by Andy Latimer, and on which he played guitars, synth. and pan pipes, now here's your chance!!!

Very rare Peter Bardens composition can be found here..he's a part of the band "Solo".
Pete wrote and produced the track.

Hi Metheny...you would probably need to be familiar with Pete Bardens' solo albums on this..."The Right Stuff" has riffs which are exactly the same as the track "Gunblasters" from the Big Sky album.
Not sure which version came first though!!!
