I have been a fan of Camel since first hearing Mirage on its release back in...er...'77?

No other guitarist I have ever heard can convey emotion through six strings better than Andy Latimer.

Well, maybe not "better than", as that would upset too many staunch fans of other guitarists, but certainly more appealing to me & I am a staunch guitarist fan.

When talking about Camel on forums & such, Andy's name is always on the tip of everyones tongue, but let's not forget that there were three other original members that got us all hooked, too.

Their sound is what I would call 'very British'. It is hard to categorise them, since there are so many influences spread throughout their catalogue, but they have always retained an individuality & uniqueness that no other band, apart from maybe Led Zeppelin, has managed to achieve.

I am thrilled to the bone on hearing the news of Andy's steady recovery & the mention of future releases.

For any of you that are not familiar with Camel's music, all I can say is, the longer you leave it, the more you'll regret it.

Long live Camel.

And it's great to see so many ex-Rajaz names appearing on this board.

Really hope it does!

But if it doesn't return it would really be nice to at least access it so we can read the old posts ... there was a goldmine full of Camel information and experiences there!

..... does Lymelight hang around this playground?

... good post Stef.. smiley

More or less - a few niggling/teething troubles, but for all intents, yeah, finished.

Except for the fact that some twat bust my headlight today & caused some bodywork damage in the process.

More expense.

Still, it is a damn fine vehicle, both to look at & drive...

thanks for asking.

I agree Eggle. It's a pity we can't read the old posts. Brings back some good memories.

Yes, Lymelight has joined this place, but only posted a little.
