Reasonable Camel content in the "Prog" magazine ...a half page advert for the new anthology...a glowing review of the same, and a 4 page Camel feature from the recent Andy Latimer interview with Dave Ling..anybody else seen it yet?

No, but thinking of getting it, although these mags are a bit pricey. Would you say it's a good interview with Andy?

I'll be truthfull...I wanted to get the mag. for the Camel feature only...I almost choked at the cover price of 7.99 but got it anyway.
It's a good article..the journalist who wrote it is obviously very respectful of the position Camel now hold in the prog. world, and there's a few decent quotes from Andy Lat.
I'd say it's 75-80% narrative and the rest being actual quotes. Overall it's a good piece, although 1.1/2 pages of the 4 page article is a colour picture of the band outside the Albert Hall in 1975. I think I was expecting a more in- depth interview, but what Andy says is insightful, both about his illness, and the bands' future.
(As well as the Dave Minasian album, Latimer has contibuted to an up-coming album by Dave Sinclair!)
(There's also a short piece about his almost-realised stint with Roger Waters).
Overall, I was expecting more, but now I'm glad I made the purchase.
Cheers
Pete

At the price of this mag it is almost approaching Swedish cost grin. I was going to buy the Classic Rock but refused outright to pay 8 for one magazine. It is a matter of principle rather than not being able to afford it. Magazines in this country are extortionate unless you buy the trash ones full of celebs talking about their teeth being bleached or how constipated they are being on a new diet.

A great article in this month's Classic Rock Prog mag, finishing off with Andy Latimer saying this:

' Now that I'm progressively better, I'm starting to think about getting out there and doing some gigs again. Denis Clement and I have started work on what will be something for a Camel album. There's an album's worth of material and it's progressing very nicely. There's no time scale on releasing it, but Doug Ferguson and I have been talking for years about putting together a little blues band. Playing a few smaller gigs would be a good way of making up for lost time'

cool cool cool cool cool

Interesting that Andy has contributed to a Dave Sinclair album. Have to look out for news on that. smiley
