Just checked the CP shop again and it looks like the 30 donation is just a donation and no DVD. It does say " DVD not included. "

Not the best marketing ploy if you get nothing tangible for paying 30 which is a lot to many in this day and age with the way the country is and the rising cost of living.

Well, personally if anyone wants to and can afford a donation, the 40 option is a good one IMO. smiley

Haven't other bands done this idea anyway? I seem to recall maybe Marillion? Correct me if I'm wrong. They asked for donations towards production of albums etc. Even recall people saying it was a good idea and maybe Camel should consider it. I doubt loads of money has been rolling in recently for them. Good cause I say! smiley

You are quite right there Squigs re Marillion but those who paid up front - including me - paid a little more than the normal rate for a special 2 CD version of Marbles - (the retail version was a single CD) and had their name printed on the sleeve.

As you know from the old Rajaz forum, I stated that Camel Productions missed a significant opportunity to maximise their revenue by cashing in on the farewell tour - by producing CD/DVD while demand was at a high. Poor business practice but that is history now and we look forward to the future and not only Andy getting better each day but perhaps another Camel album sometime in the future. I can hardly wait.

I went for the full package and to be honest Camel are the only band who I can justify spending that kind of money on ... I wasn't sure if I should be so self-indulgent .... but when I thought about how much Camels music has meant to me over the years and also the fact that while Andy has been fighting his illness he obviously hasn't been earning ... it became an easy, guilt free, well worth it decision.

ps .... just don't let the wife know ... wink

Hi Eggle....Yes, I have managed after years of searching to get hold of a copy of this album.
To be honest, I've only played the one track that Andy Lat. played on and produced.
I'll dig out the album and give details of the other musicians on the track.
The song was written by Julia Downes and this is her own version of it.
The song was covered by Roger Daltrey on his "Under a Raging Moon" album, and you can get a sound sample of his version here....
http://www.amazon.com/Under-Raging-Moon-Roger-Daltrey/dp/B000002II6
It's track 2....
and also here...
http://www.artistdirect.com/nad/window/media/page/0,,72367-1176781,00.html

Song Lyrics can be found here...
http://www.metrolyrics.com/dont-talk-to-strangers-lyrics-roger-daltrey.html

Hard to describe Julias' version...it's a bit Kate Bush=ish, but it could be any number of female singers!
I like the song though!!
Andy plays guitars and pan pipes on the track.
More details to follow.
