It would be nice to have heard more of that and the unplugged set they did on the Rajaz tour was fabulous. It would have been great to have had that captured on audio or video (both preferrably).

Here's some live Latimer acoustic footage!

What kills me is the lack of respect by some in the crowd for the band; talking constantly. What the f***?! undecided

Agreed Dave, but this is a great concert nevertheless, and a great DVD to have

Don't even get me started on this and the principle reason that I no longer go to gigs. The Marillion, Porcupine Tree and Hackett gigs were totally destroyed for me by inconsiderate a-holes who are happy to pay money to go along, get drunk, spend the evening shouting at each other and pay the bands or others who have paid good money no respect at all. To me, they are not fans of that band if they have no respect.

I agree!... cheesy

His talent is his style of music wink, but both Steve Hackett and Anthony Phillips they are masters at acoustics!........ I do agree though we have not heard a lot on the acoustic front from him, but equally who can play the best electric guitar!... cheesy

Interestingly enough, the same gripe could be levied against Ant Phillips who does not play enough 'electric' guitar but tends to do mostly acoustic. Steve H is the master of both and my favourite guitarist although Andy's style of weeping guitar cannot be beaten.

Yes, it's so annoying. Whether or not you like the acoustic stuff, it's not fair on people who want to listen.

So true. What's interesting is that artists are aware of the fact that some audience members will be tempted to talk whenever a quiet song appears in the setlist. I remember when we were shooting the Coming of Age gig, Andy was concerned about the setlist and how it would go down with the audience. He actually felt that the setlist would be a challenge for the audience since the band was playing the entire Harbour of Tears album, and much of that album is on the slow or quiet side. Plus most were hearing the material for the first time. Would they get bored? Would they refrain from talking? Would the filming ultimately be ruined as a result? Fortunately, the audience was so into it, showing their respect for the band by remaining quiet during the quiet parts and exploding with applause at the appropriate times. Not bad for an LA audience who are usualy pretty rowdy.

I don't mind really. Players play what they're happy with. I do have a preference for electric guitar though, especially played by Andy L! smiley smiley
