Both great artists in their own right have both announced retirement. Have 2 Paul Simon albums and 1 made up of Elton John's hits.

After 50 years of great music, it's time to move on.. I'm sure tours can often create stresses to the body and mind, plus maybe running out of good material....

Happy retirement to both legendary performers in music!... smiley cool

I was lucky to be able to see both Elton and Paul in concert a few times over the past 40 years. Yes, it's definitely time for them both to retire.

So many great albums by both of them. I don't want to exclude the ones with Art Garfunkel either. Fabulous music!

Yes he has a great back catalogue with some standout songs including that one over several eras. My favourite is Late in the Evening which isnít even one of his best known tracks.

I love that song. He acted in the movie One Trick Pony about a down-and-out folk rock musician who hasn't had a hit in years, and "Late In The Evening" was part of that soundtrack. Paul also released an album called One Trick Pony. Many wonderful guest artists on that one.

I saw Paul twice with Art & twice on his own. I've seen Elton multiple times. It doesn't look as if Paul is coming down here but hopefully Elton will be here in 2020.

In terms of favourite albums for Paul it's There Goes Rhymin' Simon & for Elton the total masterpiece which is Goodbye Yellow Brick Road.

I've never seen either in concert, but am a significant fan of their music. I got tickets for one of EJ's concerts in the fall and am considering also trying to get tickets for PS's tour.

EJ's early 70s records are great. However, he has also put out a few really good ones in the past decade (Songs from the West Coast, The Diving Board).

Admittedly I haven't listened to PS's work in the past decade, but he made some great records in the first two decades after S&G.
