Bowie has had many faces, evolving constantly as a musician and composer. What's your favorite?

Initials: STS: Station To Station (1976)
SMASC: Scary Monsters And Super Creeps

I went for his electronic period, as I felt it had the most energy, one of my favorites, Earthling, and some of the greatest live shows (the live rendition of Look Back In Anger is fantastic)

The Glam period is what I remember most fondly, and that was how I voted. My favourite music by Bowie encompasses all the 'Changes' he went through.

The Mick Ronson era, particularly from TMWSTW to Aladdin Sane would be my favourite.

However, almost as much, I like the stretch of five albums he released from STS to Scary Monsters.

I'd be remiss in not mentioning Bowie's last four albums which marked the return of Tony Visconti and represented, IMO, an excellent return to form.

Very difficult to decide since he produced such a succession of great songs during most of those periods, but it comes down to a choice between Glam & Art Rock. Fave album is Hunky Dory, but overall Art Rock wins.

Mine would be Station To Station thru to Let's Dance. (1976-83)

Glam and Art Rock periods are pretty close together, voted for Glam, just because it is this period, most of us identify Bowie with.

As much as I have loved most of Bowie's era's and output, those last few albums were incredible. Realising now that through ill health and his own issues that he produced some of the greatest, most experimental music of not just his career but in music full stop, gets total respect and admiration from me. Blackstar on it's own is a masterpiece that speaks louder than the music and words now. Add to that the quality on The Next Day and I have to say his latter day releases were the jewel in the crown.

Definitely his first era. It's the era that warms our hearts the most.

+ 1 - I've always thought the work he did with The Spiders From Mars was the most exciting.

The majority of his career was fantastic, but the 1976-1980 art rock period is my favourite with the glam era a close second. Listening to "Low" for the first time was one of the musical highlights of my life.
