Henry!!!

LA 2 looked and sounded like one helluva show! The dump was jumping and everyone I know who was there thought it was an amazing show. Tons of electricity and energy onstage and in the crowd. I loved the post River set you got and any show with Backstreets gets my personal seal of approval! Especially one as good as the version last night. Wow. Video gave me goosebumps.

I think it's gonna be hard for LA3 to top that one but I'm sure he'll try. I'm so bummed I had to call off my trip but at the same time I'm glad you're there and taking it all in. Looking forward to hearing all about it.

Sounds like there's some East Coast late summer ballpark/stadium shows in the works so maybe we can do another double shot of Bruce in Philly. cool

Before I read this I was expecting some kind of general denouncement of the rights issue, but I think it shows that his sincerity regarding this is genuine. Good on Bruce. cool

A Statement from Bruce Springsteen on North Carolina
Bruce Springsteen·Friday, April 8, 2016

As you, my fans, know I’m scheduled to play in Greensboro, North Carolina this Sunday. As we also know, North Carolina has just passed HB2, which the media are referring to as the “bathroom” law. HB2 — known officially as the Public Facilities Privacy and Security Act — dictates which bathrooms transgender people are permitted to use. Just as important, the law also attacks the rights of LGBT citizens to sue when their human rights are violated in the workplace. No other group of North Carolinians faces such a burden. To my mind, it’s an attempt by people who cannot stand the progress our country has made in recognizing the human rights of all of our citizens to overturn that progress. Right now, there are many groups, businesses, and individuals in North Carolina working to oppose and overcome these negative developments. Taking all of this into account, I feel that this is a time for me and the band to show solidarity for those freedom fighters. As a result, and with deepest apologies to our dedicated fans in Greensboro, we have canceled our show scheduled for Sunday, April 10th. Some things are more important than a rock show and this fight against prejudice and bigotry — which is happening as I write — is one of them. It is the strongest means I have for raising my voice in opposition to those who continue to push us backwards instead of forwards.

Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band’s Sunday April 10th show is canceled. Tickets will be refunded at point of purchase.

Wow, nice one Bruce! cool

Shame for the innocent ticket-buyers that he had to cancel a show but this is a cause I can get behind.

Way to go Bruce! cool Hopefully others will follow suit.

I know PayPal has cancelled the building of an East Coast facility costing NC 400 jobs. Hit em in the pocket book and maybe they'll wise up.

I'll be interested to see if Pearl Jam cancels their Raleigh NC gig or how the NBA handles their All-Star game being held in NC next year.

Just a heads up for you guys but it sounds like he won't be playing The River in its entirety on the European/UK leg of this tour. It seems like they'll be a decent amount of it played but not full or in order.

He said last night in Brooklyn these would be the last two shows they played it full. Who knows how he'll set up the setlists but I wouldn't be surprised to see blocks of River tunes with other hits placed in between as opposed to after the whole album.

Here's hoping you guys at least get a heavy dose of it, especially the rarities.

I absolutely love the River album so looking forward to this tour. However I have heard so many of his recent shows via the official downloads I think I might be quite glad that he might vary it a little. I still would like a big chunk of The River album but don't mind if he doesn't play it all.... Either way can't wait till he comes to Edinburgh.

Sounds like we're gonna get some late summer dates announced very soon.

Hearing a couple of shows at MetLife in N.J. late August and a Philly show at Citizens Bank Park early September (7th). DC, and Boston also getting a stadium show with Pittsburgh and Chicago getting an arena show each.

Might have to make another trip to the Windy City! cool

Dates confirmed. A bit of a bummer they're almost all weeknight shows but that should only help securing tix for those wanting to go and I'm always psyched when there's shows to look forward to so no complaints.

New 2016 The River Tour North American Dates:

August 23 – East Rutherford, NJ – MetLife Stadium

August 25 – East Rutherford, NJ – MetLife Stadium

August 28 – Chicago, IL – United Center

September 1 – Washington, DC – Nationals Park

September 3 – Virginia Beach, VA – Veterans United Home Loans Amphitheater

September 7 – Philadelphia, PA – Citizens Bank Park

September 11 – Pittsburgh, PA – CONSOL Energy Center

September 14 – Foxborough, MA – Gillette Stadium

I'm surprised there's no Toronto stadium show. I thought for sure there would be. No idea if these are the last dates though.

I'm gonna try for the Va Beach show, and if I score a pit, I'll go. Probably going to do Philly but I'd really like to do the Chicago arena show instead. Hard to pass on Philly but I'm really not a fan of stadium/ball park shows. Although we did see a couple of damn good shows there last time. grin

Ugghh! Could be worse though, there could be no shows to pick from.

Hard to believe, but I'm kinda Bruce'd Out at the moment, though Chicago would be nice.

I'm at the front end of a bunch of concerts I'm looking forward to this spring/summer, and I was hoping not to encounter any new shows I'd like to see. So these new Bruce dates are just making me feel a bit itchy. undecided

I'm thinking these won't be the last dates we get this year. If his tour schedule follows the past blueprint, they'll wait until most if not all of the stadium shows are sold out and then release some fall arena dates.

I'm definitely going to check out one of these new dates but holding out for multiple arena shows. A roll of the dice as these could be all we get but I'm thinking there's going to be more.
