Not just you Merlin, I thought the audio/visual quality was excellent. Visual's would have been better if there was a little bit less of the audience though!

I have to agree with Tangent over the audio quality of 'The Opening Farewell'. It pains me to say it, but the audio mix is very poor. The bass and keyboards are too quiet in the mix and although Denis is a superb drummer, his kit (especially the snare) sounds awful. Compare the mix of 'Ice' to the version on 'Coming of Age' or 'Stationary Traveller' to the mix on 'Pressure Points'.
I'm wondering why Andrew was not involved in producing the audio mix, leaving it solely to Denis? Perhaps David Minasian can answer.
On the positive the side, the band play with real passion and energy. They are still my favourite band and always will be.

Thanks Peter, coming from a musician, that is good to hear.
On another matter, I came across Nude - Expanded Edition on Amazon:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Nude-Expanded-Camel/dp/B002NV9AGY/ref=pd_rhf_p_t_1
And I wondered if the live material is the same as Camel On The Road 1981?
Can anyone enlighten me?

Really?!
I just like to see as much of the band as possible. Makes me think I'm close and watching them myself then!

I thought Andrew was involved with the audio mix, although he gets no credit on the DVD.
P.S. Keyboards sound pretty loud to me. Louder than usual I'd say.

Thanks... No need to buy it then!
Can anyone point me in the direction of a working download of the Nearfest gig?

Agreed, superb show. Much kudos to Nearfest for arranging a Camel-headlining prog event.
Nice picture from Glasgow Tangent, were you there?

I was indeed, in fact, I took the picture. I should have owned up to that in my post!
I have others on a CD-rom, which is in a box in the cellar. I'll look it out and post some more.

Thanks Tangent would love to see those. Caught Camel for the first time in Leicester that tour, made a big impression on me right from the opening drum sequence. Pics will help bring back those memories .... cheers.
