Hmm... I was on the fence about this, but perhaps I should give it a chance when it comes out.
Have you heard it from beginning to end? Any standouts?

Awesome!
I just got Hydrophonia in the mail yesterday, and Wallstreet Voodoo is on its way. Really looking forward to hearing more of Roine's music, in whatever shape or form it takes.

I don't listen to much instrumental music, for some reason. Seems like vocals and lyrics make music feel more human to me, more connected if that makes any sense. But good music is good music, and if TFK is anything to go by, I feel confident that I'll love it too.
Quote:I'm not a great fan of the blues so probably like only about half of WSV. Mind you, there are so many different styles on there that it's probably the only blues album I'll ever need |

Same here actually. The blues has never been a big favorite of mine as genres go, although I certainly have a lot of respect for it and the musicians. But from the samples I've heard, WSV seems a little more diverse than just blues rock. At any rate, I liked a lot of what I heard -- and having Neal Morse involved in some songs is like icing on the cake.

I've been listening non stop for 2 days ,I am amazed how each disc flows so well [and yet the bands are placed in alphabetical order] Seems each band chose a track that was perfect for themselves . The whole boxset is like one big epic.

well... no need to be coy you must know by now I'm a TFK mega fan. I like this tribute a lot . I like everything TFK a lot I'm not sure if having a track on it is making me bias ,but I really do get a good feeling when I study the music and think about how much effort the bands put in . [they are certainly fans of TFK as am I ] Honestly ,I love each tune ,and , any and all new TFK is good .

I agree with Bassman this tribute album is excellent. Some cracking versions of these amazing songs. Since listening to the tribute it has put me back in the mood to revisit some TFK albums I have not played in a while.

Nice to read some positive reactions to this collection. I'm starting to think it might be a possible purchase in the future for me.

...and now, I'm enjoying:
Space Revolver.
To my ears, I Am The Sun is still one of the best ever opening tracks on any album, in any genre, full stop! A quite amazing song indeed. Brilliant.
And Rumble Fish Twist remains one of my favourite TFK instrumentals too. Again, brilliant.
Other bands must listen to this stuff and think 'it's not fair!'

Watched the 'opening song' of the Whirlwind DVD last night. No words to describe...
Love the Rosecoloured glasses section - real emotion
