SEBTP...My first Genesis album and loved it from day one. Lots going in this album cover as with Trick of the Tail..
Which reflects the music.

I love all of these covers, but I have to agree that Wind & Wuthering is the best, followed closely by A Trick of the Tail.

I find Wind and Wuthering too bland for my taste

Why the surprise? They are after all beautiful covers, aren't they?

It's that I don't think they are beautiful covers (I voted for W&W), it's the fact that none of the other album covers even came close in terms of votes.

The Lamb for me.

I do like all the sleeves in this poll actually even FGTR.

Never understood why Foxtrot got such a hammering from certain members of the band. It's of its time, but what a time 1972 was!

You are right, 72 was a fantastic year for music in general and prog in particular. Foxtrot's cover art certainly reflects the spirit of that era but personally, I agree with the band and I don't think the problem is the period, after all quality stands the test of time. It's very busy to begin with but so are other covers, the main problem is imo that it doesn't even look particularly professional, I think Phil said that and I agree.

I voted for Trick, if I were to rank them, W&W would be second, Trespass third, SEBTP 4th and then it depends on the day. Personally I don't rate Foxtrot and The Lamb very highly and I do believe that both Trick and W&W are vastly 'superior' to the others but that's me.
