Hi there

Funnily enough it looks as if a complete '77 pro shot might have been tracked down. No more info at the moment but my info is from a reliable source, but I am keeping everything I can cross without making my eyes water or making it difficult to type, crossed for this one which is my personal Holy Grail.

Hi Alan,

Yeah, that would be amazing!
Actually I wish I didn't know about it, I will be so disappointed if it doesn't happen.

I agree, I also regard a Seconds Out tour recording as the holy grail, but we all know there is a full show from Glasgow pro-shot from '76 sitting on Tony Maylams shelf gathering dust.........

Hi there

At the risk of being accused of pr*ck teasing I won't say anymore about that until my enquiries are complete. Believe me I doubt if anyone would be more delighted about this than I would but we have had enough let downs over the years haven't we?

Hi Alan,

Yes, we have had (aisles of) plenty let-downs recently, but, put it this way, if you have heard on good authority that pro-shot Seconds Out footage has been found, then that is good enough for me.
Fingers crossed..............

Any idea what format it is in? Is this a copy that has made it's way through trading circles, or are we talking source material in an archive somewhere?

Let's hope it's on at least 16mm film...

Well yes, Pr*ck teasing fits in perfectly with the Genesis MO, so don't worry about being accused Alan. grin

Just tell us all you know and if it turns out to be wrong, then so be it!

I would doubt it. It's just single-cam news-reel footage. No evidence of any other cameras on stage. That said, there were rumours of more Brazil footage being captured by a TV station out there.

Also, there are rumours of the Paris shows being filmed/videoed, but if they were, why was the footage never used (because of the quality of the results?). I also can't see anything resembling a camera in the pictures of the stage set-up in Seconds Out.

As we know there is footage from Raimbow Theatre and Moody Colliseum in circulation. I doubt there is a huge amount more from the Rainbow given it was the opening night and done for a Japanese TV promo, specifically focusing on W&W songs. Moody Colliseum footage may be more likely. Shot on video, though so not good enough for Blu-Ray/HD.

Not much to add to what has been said. They should have said something about Steve's vast solo career , but also I was surprised that Genesis Revisited did not not get a mention. Right at the time of a documentary about Genesis , an ex member , is still selling out large concert halls playing old Genesis, showing just how popular the music of 40 years ago still is. He's the only one to keep the Genesis flag flying and gets totally ignored!

Also Phil confirmed that he remained my "most like to meet" person. Although I'm not much of a fan of his solo stuff, I have 3 albums, which isn't bad , he has given me so much pleasure over 40 years through Genesis, he has a great voice , fantastic drummer huge talent and wealth , a career few of us could dream of and yet for so many years he has come across as so miserable because lots of people don't like him. Even in this doc. he said that the good feedback almost makes up for the bad. Was that a joke? It didn't seem like it. I'm not commenting on well documented issues in his private life , just his continued discontent with his public persona. i could shake him given the chance, and tell him lighten up a little and enjoy the success life has brought and appreciate his fans more than listen to his detractors.

Hi there

It was avery strange experience for me after seeing the premiere in London and having the five of them sitting only a few feet behind me to being at the One Show the following day and have the three of them come over and shake my hand at the end of it. Despite all the controversy over this project the individual people remain thoroughly decent in my experience which isn't always the case with rock musicians I can tell you!
