Just a few words to say " Hello" to fellow fans of the greatest rock band ever ,and I look forward to chatting to you on the forum.
P.S. Am a huge fan of prog rock including oldies such as Crimson and Camel ,and newbies incl Flower Kings and Dream Theatre, but after Genesis my other hero is Pat Metheny, the jazz guitarist.
This may be off interest to some, but it may not.
Anyway I better stop now. Chat to you soon.

Thanks Choccy.I really do have a varied taste musically( of more you'll find out over the coming weeks), and BBT are one of many bands I admire .I first heard about BBT t when I found out that ex- Spocks Beard drummer Nick D`VIRGILIO was joining BBT on a permanent basis.Big admirer of the Beard.
I love Dave Longdons voice, very PG don't you think?

So which BBT albums have you got? My collection just has EE parts 1/2.Apparently they're going to re-release these albums together in the autumn in a digi - pack with four new songs ,and a booklet.

I'm another BBT fan - I own The Underfall Yard and both parts of English Electric. Fortunately, the band are going to release the 4 new tracks as a separate EP. smiley

I've got The Difference Machine, EE Pts ! & 2, The Underfall Yard, Gathering Speed and the Far Skies Deep Time EP - just love them. As I've said on here before, the most excited I've been about a new band since I first discovered Genesis! (and that is saying something!) smiley

Genesis! Don't we just love `em ?
I was 14 years young when I hit THE WALL ,never to get back up after first hearing my first album from Charterhouses finest.
Actually it was Games Without Frontiers that got me into Genesis,as I rushed out and bought the single ,and days later PG 3.I had no idea who Gabriel was but I loved his voice.
Weeks later I was in my local vinyl store ( those were the days) when I recognised the music that was being played," I know what I like".I was immediately struck by the album cover, and the name Genesis.Flipped the album over - tracks listed and then personnel. P.Collins ,M.Rutherford ,S.Hackett ,T.Banks and P.Gabriel. After confirming with the owner that P.Gabriel was indeed one and the same I quickly rushed home with my copy of SEBTP,and that was that.
Will never hear anything better than Genesis I'm sure.

Hi everyone!
My name is Chris and I'm a Genesis fan. It's great to have found you guys, with thanks to Alan Hewitt, and having a look around I'm over the moon to be somewhere where people accept and understand that Genesis is the Greatest Rock Band in the world. In the real world, however much I try patiently to explain this rather obvious fact, people don't understand, which can be a little vexing.
Anyway, I'm new here, so I'll watch you guys for a little while and try not to make a mess. If any of you need me to go to the bar or empty the ashtrays, just let me know smiley
All the best,
Chris

Great to hear! I'm still in that phase where the voice in my head says "How the hell has it taken you so long to find these people?!" Looking through the previous threads and activity, I'm amazed that these things are being discussed, and of course very happy laugh

Hello -
I am very happy to have stumbled across this forum. I've been a Genesis fan since elementary school when Invisible Touch was released. My mom went to the mall and I asked her to get me the Invisible Touch 45. The b-side was Domino Part 2: The Last Domino and I flipped my lid. The song Invisible Touch did not prepare me for Domino. And Domino did not prepare me for the depths of the Genesis catalogue, which I slowly but steadily dug into in reverse: Genesis to Abacab to Duke...etc. What a wild ride. So I'm an all era fan. A Phil and a Peter fan (and all the rest, of course.)
Anyway, all this to say: I'm glad to be here. cool
