Welcome...i'm Leedsunited from the old Forum I thought a name change might inspire my team to actually start winning.

Lets hope the name change does the trick. It's hard to believe that just 5 or 6 years ago we were in the semi finals of the champions league. Speaking of the Scots, Leeds have been lucky, we've had some of their best ever players.

Oh by the way, hello all.

Just thought I'd say hello.

I'm Jon and on the 'other' forum I'm known as Jon.

Good to see so many names from the past, including some who have abandoned the 'other' forum. I hope that the disparaging remark about post $35 joiners that I read in one post is an isolated remark tongue.

Greetiings Jon,

I'm Nov and on the other forum I'm known as "Nov"

(reminds me of that line in Forest Gump..."my name's Forest Gump, people call me "Forest Gump" grin )

Completely out of the blue question Jon - do you know of any decent Dire Straits tribute bands or maybe any half-decent covers bands?

Cheers mate

I saw a few people have had to choose other names here (as I have had to do due to the Name Length Police on the new forum - could be a problem for you too), so that line seemed appropriate smiley.

What I'm most concerned about is this:

Are any good covers bands playing in the Kingston area in the run up to Christmas? If you know of one, could you start a thread about it in the Musicians section?

Thank you

I've had to sign on as "Novvy" on the new "official" forum.

I guess you'll be "Jonny"?

By strange co-incidence, I play in a covers band and we've got 3 gigs lined up at The Grey Horse in Kingston in the run up to Christmas (June, September and December). You can't beat a good run-up in my opinion.

More details in the musicians section.

Just found my way here from the "official" site.
I had been a member at the other site since 2004. But I didn't realize that something had gone wrong there in October until I couldn't log in and post anymore. Re-registered and then discovered the whole Ultrastar fiasco.
Hoping this is a saner place. I recognize a lot of names here.

Hi all,

Great to see we have an alternative to the new "official" forum. Thanks, Krissy!

Ciao,

Hey Nov, I was able to change my name over there to "Joe", even though I needed a four letter minimum username to get in. Maybe you could try as well. You have to go into edit profile to do it, though. Good luck. smiley
