Facebook, because it's been brought up often. A decent and quite helpful website to me, but I honestly do think certain parts of it appeal to the lowest common denominator, and I only check it once every two or three days for random updates.

Okay, time for a short rant. Don't worry, I won't go on too long. One recent thing that pisses me off about Facebook is the fact that an often very large number of people are falling victim to the extremely easy puzzles and riddles posted by radio station pages. For example, a radio station will post a question like "I bet you can't think of a song that begins with the letter J! Go on, try it and share!" and because so many people on Facebook are blind to it, they will all post their response (for example, Johnny B. Goode), and share the puzzles/riddles with their friends, who will do the same. This helps to give the radio station in question an immense response and therefore more popularity. It just annoys me how pathetically gullible these people are. angry

I don't think they're gullible, I think they just like the fun.

I agree with both of you, but NSOV is correct in stating that we blindly submit ourselves to situations that are clearly created to boost ratings. We are being used as pawns in just about every area of our lives. Most people don't care, but whether it's on Facebook or in your private e-mails, businesses will try to get you to click on something that will give that entity a boost, whether it's a radio station, a television station, a website, etc.

Yes, these games, as stated, can be fun, but there's an ulterior motive going on behind the scenes. Nowadays, nothing is being done just for the fun of it. Greed is usually behind almost everything.

Peter vs Phil who's better?

Is CAS a real Genesis album?

(On previous or official Genesis boards I was on, those two subjects always triggered the most heated flame wars that I can recall. It got to the point where if a newbie arrived and posed these questions or conveyed an opinion along these lines, it was like, "Oh crap, here we go again.")

Before reading the listed options I was going to say "Who Dunnit?" would be such a subject.

But some of the other ideas mentioned are much better.

The guitar solo on the live versions of firth of fifth: Steve Hackett vs Daryl Stuermer.

Well, that particular matter could be included in the whole 'Steve leaving' discussion.

I didn't think that caused many arguments. I thought most of us agreed that Daryl's versions were shit! grin wink

My smileys should indicate that my post shouldn't be taken too literally nor too seriously. That said, I am not a big fan of Daryl's versions.
