I'm surprised that Animals doesn't have any votes. shocked It's my second favourite Pink Floyd album and my second favourite in that list after Wish You Were Here. smiley

Hi there

I have never heard Red, Godbluff or Animals so can't really comment on those. The rest of these classics all get regular play here though.

Red and Godbluff are the only 2 that I don't know.

Because lots and lots of people have voted for them.

Although Symphonic Prog is the predominate genre on Progarchives, it caters for fans of all different types of alternative music including, jazz, fusion, prog metal, etc.

That list is the overall top 100 from years and years of votes but you can narrow it down to sub-genres if you wish. It just goes to show how amazingly loved those 2 jazz albums are that they are in amongst mostly classic prog rock albums wink

Thanks for clarification smiley I believe Kind of blue is the best selling Jazz album of all times, so I'm not surprised in that light.
Phil Collins loved that Al diMeola album too. Al was very flattered that Phil went to his show in London.

It's a fantastic album, but I think you've hit on why it has no votes. I'm guessing that a large number of Floyd-lovers would rank DSotM or WYWH as their favorite, and some even The Wall or one of the pre-Dark Side albums. Animals is a solid #2 or #3.

cool

I seem to recall that Animals is also Laura's (Jane Cool's) favourite Pink Floyd album.

It's also reviewer George Starostin's favorite (I'm actually reading his Pink Floyd web page right now).

Absolutely! It's great to see the group in this fine form.

For what it's worth, I was the lone guy who voted for Van Der Graaf's Godbluff. A quite stupendous album.

And, if truth be known, Lizard is my favourite King Crimson album, too. Larks' Tongues is superior in most ways, but Lizard is just my favourite. So there laugh

Out of those available I would vote for WYWH although none of them are in my top 5 of all time.
ITCotCK comes in at number 5 in my list of KC albums but I'm afraid DSotM doesn't get into my top 5 Floyd albums.
