The Phantoms - Kingston - Saturday 5th December!!
« Thread started on: Aug 25th, 2009, 3:17pm » |

Dear All,
Here's something to (hopefully) look forward to in the run up to Christmas.........
This year has been very quiet for The Phantoms due to health issues and boat building(!) amongst other things but we're back with two new guitarists at our favourite venue as follows:
Saturday 5th December - The Grey Horse, Kingston
We've had a great turn-out from the forum at previous gigs and it'd be great to see you all there again if you can make it - and anyone else who fancies a night of Phantom-style mayhem!!
Here's our web-site - www.thephantoms.biz
Here's the venue - www.grey-horse.co.uk/gh/gh_welcome.php
Our Facebook page is called "Are You The Caterers?"
Here's the poster:

Hope to see you there.......
Cheers

Excellent!!
Those who have also said they plan to be there are Nige Noodle, Choccy, Nikki, Oz and Frasier. Gooner as well unless I've just made that up
Hopefully some of the other fine Ladies and Gentlemen here will be up for a bit of a pre-Christmas pogo as well
Any requests?

Once you've got your foot in the door with your first gig there you should be alright. We've played there 11 or 12 times now.
Richard (the landlord) is a really good bloke and has always been very welcoming towards The Phantoms. Mind you that could be because we always get between 100 and 150 people in who tend to drink the place dry!
Now we're back up and running we're planning to give Richard 4 dates that we'd like to play there spread throughout 2010.
Good luck with getting a gig there, it's a great venue to play.
Here's us playing "Common People" there: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uFL5-U__a5E
See you soon mate!

Will be requesting the night off for this very gig sir
We've got Eddie Izzard on the Sunday, so will be a good weekend all round
The link? Between The Phantoms and Eddie Izzard? Don't know but there just has to be one somewhere

This is one reason why I've given so much notice - so that people get get it in their diaries and plan ahead.
It's a good opportunity for a pre-Christmas forum get-together and knees-up

Where's that Nikki?
I'm so pleased it's not the same night!

Well, I'm definitely not driving so I'd get the coach down but I can't afford to stay over anywhere, so it's looking doubtful, I'm afraid.

Have a look at coach/train (or even drive) to Peterborough.
I could then drive us both to and from the gig and you could stay here Saturday night (make that early hours of Sunday morning! ) then get back to brum for PT.

Thanks Hebs, that's very kind of you! I'll check out the transport. Not sure if they do the Funfares to Peterborough but maybe I could get a cheap train fare if I book early enough.
