For me, the working title of 'Irish' links in perfectly with the lyrics of 'Driving The Last Spike' as a lot of Irish navvies were used in the construction of the British railways, see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Navvy.
Mind you that article, correct or not, does state that only approximately 30% of navvies were actually Irish.

this title resembles do the neurotic, and indeed jesus he knows me has a similar fast rhythm. maybe it started as a fast paced instrumental piece, then phil sang random syllables over it and finally wrote the lyrics.
