I love this album but only have the original cd release which is ok, but why no remaster rerelease? I know Steven Wilson is a fan of this album too, perhaps that would be the most likely route for a reissue?

If anything, a rerelease should have proper credits and "Compression" as a bonus track.

I believe he sold the rights to some of his old work, and only got them back this year. I do have my fingers crossed for some sort of re-release to happen soon.

^ Interesting, I hope it does get a release, everyone on this thread adores it, its long overdue. I wish I had bought this album on vinyl when it first came out. I remember Tommy Vance playing Working In Line on the Friday Rock Show and looking at the LP in a record shop. My 17 year old self probably thought it might not be that good but after buying it on cd many years later I realise how wrong I was!

Update, apparently there was a reissue in 2007 per this review:

I believe that this was only available from the merchandise stall at the UK TIOA 2007 gigs. (It may of been available at the US Shows) but wasn't available in the shops. You may of been also to buy a copy from the genesis website but i can't remember.

I remember even Terry Wogan playing WIL on his morning show, as well as Time And Time Again occasionally - happy days smiley

I have this on cassette and haven't heard it in ages, but it used to be one of my favorites.

I've been looking for a CD copy but all I see is vinyl. I might buy the vinyl sometime.

I have all Genesis, Peter Gabriel and Steve Hackett cd's and am trying to get all the other solo cd's and am amazed at the price of the Smallcreep's Day CD but I am going to get one in the end, though I might have to save up for a decade or 2 smiley I have to admit I have never heard a single track from it sad

I finally found a CD copy for 10 dollars. I've been enjoying it.

There is a FLAC rip of it (ie/ CD quality) on the web, I have this. I can let you have a copy, if you can't find it via Google.

I bought a copy from Germany for 20 which I thought was ok.
Listened to it a couple of times but nothing has sunk in yet, but the best albums take a while to get into I usually find.

Can't remember my first impressions of it, but now, as I've said elsewhere (in this thread, probably) I consider it the best non-Hackett Genesis related solo album, although, it has to be said, it's not entirely solo, as Ant Phillips is keyboard player on it! wink

And yes, good albums often do take some getting into, my favourite Moodies album is "To our Children's......" but that took ages.

It took me a third listen to truly appreciate The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway, which is my all time favorite album now.
