This album was one of my all time favourites. I had it on vinyl when it first came out , sadly my vinyl collection is long gone sad
Its great to see it getting some rave reviews here. Gonna get it again I think. Some awesome performances on this record , not least from a certain young drummer called Simon Philips if im not mistaken.

I LOVE THIS ALBUM!!
I may stir up some controversy now, but i thought "Smallcreeps Day" was a better "Genesis" album than the same year released "Duke"

"At The End Of The Day" still moves me to tears 27 years on!

It may well be controversial but i kind of agree with this - not because "Duke" is bad but because "Smallcreep" is one of the greatest albums ever made imo!! i love that song too - utter classic!

I just heard this album for the first time EVER the night before last, and I was blown away! I couldn't stop playing it in my car all day yesterday. I love the whole thing and think that the guitarwork is simply sublime! I would say that my fave as of yet is "Moonshine;" it's just great!

If anyone dares to ever say that Mike is terrible/sub-par/poor at the guitar... he or she should go listen to Smallcreep's Day IMMEDIATELY (especially "Into The Daylight"), lest I dish out a knuckle sandwich... wink

Way to go on making a brilliant masterpiece, Mikey! You rock my face off! cheesy

Well you won't agree with this but here it goes:
I bought this album back in 81, I loved it immediately, I still do and in fact I think it's still the best Mike has ever made including his mechanics works. (It was what prompted me to buy Acting very Strange damn it!!! rolleyes )I have very fond memories related to it and I think the songwriting and the musicianship are excellent but Mike is still no guitar hero. He does a good job on it but no more than that. His guitar work is adequate, Sublime is stretching it imo but I share your enthusiasm over the album. I dont feel it is about the guitar but hey, Im glad you like it, keep enjoying it that's what matters wink

I lost my vinyl copy of this album some years ago now cry but I saw it on play.com a few days ago, and have ordered a CD smiley. I loved the album when I first heard it, and am looking forward to my re-acquaintance with it in the next few days.

I still have my vinyl copy of Acting Very Strange, but this didn't hit the sweet spot quite like Smallcreep. His best solo IMHO

Just got hold of the missing track from Smallcreep's Day. It's called "Compression" and it's utterly fantastic. Noel's voice is awesome as you would expect. Not sure why it didn't make the album? Anyone know?

If anyone wants a copy I can email it.

I'd love to get a copy of this if poss. Please PM me.

Many thanks,

Pete.
