The first time I saw Yes perform live was June 13, 1979. The second time was July 19, 2014. That's 35 years, one month, and six days. A new record for me not likely to be broken soon.

What's your longest time span between seeing the same artist live? smiley

I saw Mike and the Mechanics in April 1989 and then again in July 2012.

25 years - saw Dave Edmunds in 1982, then there was a gap until 2007.

25+ years between Steve Hackett shows.

Saw him perform the first time in September 1980.
The next time was October 2005.

Peter Gabriel: 31st May or 1st June 1993 -> 28th March 2010. Less than a 17 year gap. undecided

Not impossible that you could break this record. Lets face it you'll be 89ish. Yes will probably still be touring and maybe differences will have been patched up so Rick W. and Jon A. will be back in the band so something to look forward to. smiley smiley

I can't impress anyone here. This thread made me realize I never saw any big artist twice this far, so I'll have to go for local artists. I think I have the biggest gap (which isn't even a big gap at all) with Helena Fix: I saw her twice, first in the Summer 2007, then in the Summer 2009. A two-year gap.

You're still young Schrott, so you've got plenty more years to create a bigger gap! grin wink

Nothing really "impressive" about any of this. I just found it an interesting thing and a fun thread topic. smiley

It’s not impressive. In fact Schrottrocker could ask the rest of us: “Look, if you liked that artist, then why the hell did it take you 35/25/23/21/17 years to go back for more?” wink

In my case I was talking about Peter Gabriel, whose studio album releases - and hence tours - have hardly been frequent in the last 20 years. grin wink Mind you, I did miss out on the Growing Up etc. tours in the early 2000s. undecided

Camel May '84 then Oct '13
Steve Hackett Apr '83 then May '13

There are one or two others I haven't seen since '79/'80 - UFO, Black Sabbath, Judas Priest. Possibly the one band I might see again Rush (last saw them June '80)

I know, but I can answer that! I liked Yes in the '70s and then I didn't really like them as much for the next 30 years! Got the tickets to see them with my son, but it turns out he couldn't go. I loved it... his loss. smiley
