Just got back from CalProg cool

Touchstone were awesome. I spoke with their bass player, Moo, this morning after breakfast. Great bunch of people. Kim Seviour, their vocalist, performed brilliantly.

Glad you enjoyed them Dave, did they go down well with the audience?
I chatted with Moo as well after the gig here, really nice guy, as were the rest of the band, apart from Kim of course, who was delighful smiley
I really hope Touchstone get the success they deserve

I echo your sentiments regarding Touchstone's future success, Alan. They were given a hero's welcome Saturday. It's funny, because I don't think they were expecting such a rousing reception. I saw Kim having breakfast at our hotel with her video man (he was shooting during their performance up in the media box at the front of the stage), but I didn't interrupt her meal to say hello. I think most attendees at the gig were enthralled not only with her performance, but also with her presence; quite stunning in her red hair and emerald dress. Moo is a fantastic bassist, reminded me of Flea with Red Hot Chili Peppers. He was all over the stage, full of energy, and man he could play up a storm as well. Great band. I wish them all the best.

Dave,

I've sent you a pm about this but just to repeat here - I think you should start a new thread with your Calprog review (and pictures) or add it all to the TFK thread.

Things can easily get missed in threads such as this one because there is such a quick turn-over of info and your hard work could be missed by a lot of people who would enjoy it.

wink

Cheers

It was fabulous.

She's a beautiful girl with a beautiful voice and, as you know, The Stables is a superb venue. The band was excellent as well with a superb flute/recorder player.

I'm going to see her Brother-In-Law at The Junction in Cambridge next month wink

Love this lady and love her music - very much under-rated and should be more appreciated.

STEVE ROACH, DJAM KARET AND LOREN NERELL

These three artists are going to be playing a 7+-hour FREE concert not too far from my home this Saturday (about 20 minutes away)

I'm familiar with some of Djam Karet's music and have heard the entire "Recollection Harvest" album. They play fantastic instrumental rock with an ambient flare.

Has anyone heard of Steve Roach or Loren Nerell? You can listen to complete tracks at this site http://www.immersionfestival.com/

One of the sponsors is my favorite haunt for progressive rock purchases, Rhino Records. It should prove to be a very interesting evening. The soundscapes that these artists create are very innovative and original.

I'm surprised they're playing at The Brook! It used to be a lovely little venue. Now it's run by a dope head and thieving crook who likes to shortchange and rip off the bands that play there.

Shame!

I used to love going to The Brook until I discovered what a pain they were to you last time.

It's a crying shame, the audiences have always been lovely, the venue has a nice atmosphere. Bryn is an ARSE!!!
