Saw Duran Duran last night at the London O2 Arena as it was my brother's 20th birthday. He, as you can expect, had a blast. Wasn't my kind of music, and the defeaning, seat-shaking bass made the show an endurance test after a while, but I'd be lying if I said I didn't enjoy some of it. I was especially impressed by the band's charisma and energy, even if the music was mainly rather generic dance-pop. Seal opened for Duran Duran, and he was okay but again, that bass was far too powerful and at times even drowned his voice due to its level of loudness.

I bought a ticket for a show in Toronto next summer.

I saw Duran Duran once, supporting Bowie in the '90s. Not a great show, John was still strung out on heroin and it was still light outside. But I garnered some respect for Simon Le Bon as he worked so hard to make it work. I've always loved his voice.

I always said I'd do see them again sometime, but from what I see of the set list so far it's really not my favourite songs, my favourites are the songs that weren't hits. The set list in 2011 would have suited me...

Oh well, should be fun.

Haven't bothered! Too tired and cold to go tonight!

Next gigs will be the fantastic G2 at the Robin next Saturday, followed by the equally fantastic Lifesigns on Sunday! What a weekend! grin grin grin

My next gig is MAMA, Saturday, 23rd, (ie/ this coming Saturday) in Chester, and I find I now have a spare ticket, so if anyone would like to come along, I can promise you the best seat in the house, centre, front row, though with the caveat that you will have to sit next to me!

Any interest, PM me. (And that doesn't mean anything involving a pig's head!) wink
