Lydia seemed to be a fashionable name in the late 70's. Around the time of the song, there was a TV programme called "Love for Lydia" starring Mel Martin, who's normally blonde, but wore a dark wig for the part, and was unforgettable pretty (as evidenced by the fact I still remember it! grin)

No it was just Dean accompanying himself on either guitar or keyboard. But he got round the lack of a duet partner by simply telling everyone: “You can help me out in this next song - I’ll sing my part & you can sing the other one”. Needless to say most of the audience were word-perfect. That’s one lasting advantage of having a massive hit that everyone & their mum bought, even 36 years later when you’re only playing to about 120 people! grin

Well, I didn't buy it, but I reckon I could remember the words. As for whether I could SING it, that's a matter of opinion! wink

Hell. I think I walked right past you, but I wasn't sure if it was you or not because it's been a while since I've seen you in person. It was just an odd sense of hesitation. undecided

I was in Section 109 if that helps. Unfortunately didn't see you, or I would have said "Hi."

Pretty solid show. His voice is weakest on the songs that require more vocal control (e.g., Let It Be), but he can still crank it pretty well on the rocking numbers. And his band was great, particularly his longstanding drummer and keyboardist.

Those flames must have been pretty hot because I could feel them from my section. I wonder what it felt like to be closer to them.

Ha...it probably was you. I was in Sec. 107. Shortly after they finally let us in I was walking around the main south corridor. I saw a face that I thought looked familiar but I couldn't put a name to it. Then I remembered you said you were going to the show...by then you had blended in with the crowd. But it was so quick that I wasn't completely sure. Oh well.

I was quite happy with McCartney's singing. Sure, he doesn't have the voice that he did many years ago, something made obvious with the more delicate songs, but WTF, it's still frickin' Paul McCartney. grin
