We had a great time at the Spock's Beard gig. Before going to the gig, I had completely forgotten that Enchant was going to be the opener. So, Ted Leonard was in for quite a night...he sang and played guitar for both bands. In total, there was around 4-1/2 hours of music. I've always pretty much disliked Ted's vocals on studio recordings, but I've got to say that in a live setting his voice is completely flawless and he has a vocal range that is unbelievable. Ed Platt on bass and Doug Ott on guitar for Enchant were absolutely amazing on bass and lead guitar respectively.

Spock's Beard were fantastic! I'm not too crazy about their latest album, but once again, in a live setting the new songs were bigger than life. Great stuff all around. The sound was mixed by Richard Mouser (Spock's Engineer on all their studio records), and the sound was perfection.

If you have a chance to see them this time around, I recommend you make the attempt to go if they're in your area. They announced at the start of the show that the venue allows no cell phones, recording devices or cameras, but at the end of the gig, I was able to snap a few pics. Sorry about the quality. I was only able to get SB pics. Didn't get any of Enchant. Wish I had though. We had a great time.

After a quiet couple of months for me, the gigs are all coming at once (good job that most of the tickets were paid for ages ago smiley).

Tonight - The Glorious Fools at The Robin...a John Martyn tribute, with Doug Melbourne and Nigel Appleton, from ReGenesis, both playing.

Friday - Ian Anderson - Jethro Tull, The Rock Opera
Sunday - Richard Thompson
Monday - King Crimson
Those 3 all at Symphony Hall

Tues 22nd - Stackridge at The Robin, Sadly it's their final tour but I'll miss the Villa v Blues game to see it.

Thurs 24th - Dave Gilmour at RAH

Mon 28th - Steven Wilson at RAH, both nights
Tues 29th

Wed 30th - Spocks Beard at Leamington

Hi Steve,

It'll be good to see you again - I think the pub of choice before RAH is the Queens Arms, maybe see you there?

Went to see the wonderful Stackridge last night. Very emotional night as this was the last time I will see them as it is their final tour. Brilliant musicianship and a lovely bunch of people.
