Steely Dan put on a great show. Steely Dan always puts on a great show. Apparently, Steely Dan always puts on the same great show. I think the concert was virtually identical to when I saw them four years ago. Very entertaining, but I don't ever need to see them again.

Elvis, on the other hand, was phenomenal. I've now seen him six times (since 1978), and each time has been a uniquely thrilling experience. Since he was the opening act (I'm sure he can't command 2500-seat amphitheaters as the headliner), his hour on stage was short and tight and outstanding!

My issue with the Moody Blues, really. Set list varies very little. This last tour, apparently, Peak Hour got aired (One of my least favourites) Gypsy, not been played for a while, but again, the worst track on it's album IMO. Steppin' in a slide zone, the first song I ever saw them play as it opened the gig in 1979, was in, and would have been OK. But really, I'd like to see a few "out-there" tracks, like The Actor, or You can never go home. Until the list is revised massively, I think my 11 gigs have covered it enough for me! wink

Yes, thank you, that would be correct. However, I saw many open spaces up on the lawn, so I'm guessing there may have only been 15-18,000 in attendance. The indoor seats number 7,000. (And I'm not counting the hundreds who bought a ticket but spent most of their time outside the theater eating cheesesteaks and drinking beer.)

I just bought a ticket to see Nightwish at Wembley Arena in December cool cool cool

Only discovered them this year, and the last 3 albums have been on almost constant rotation for months. Endless Forms Most Beautiful is my album of the year by a country mile, a real piece of art, something I never thought I would say for a band who fuse very heavy riffing, orchestral arrangements, choral singing and folk.

I can't friggin' wait!!

It was good to meet you and have a chat before the show. We thoroughly enjoyed it, although I was a little disappointed to find that our set had 5 songs less than St. Albans, including the 2 2nd encore songs. As it finished at 9.50, I'm not sure why they would shorten the set?

Hi Steve, it was good to meet you too! Not sure as to why the set was shorter. To be fair, Andy Latimer has had more than his share of health issues and none of us are getting any younger wink

Hope your 4 nights "on the road" goes well. Hopefully see you next weekend at Kings Place.

Nice to see that most of the original lineup is in the band. Of course, Vince Welnick (keyboards) passed away awhile ago. Bill Spooner (guitar, vocals) and Michael Cotton (synthesizer) are missing as well. I remember getting to witness them live in the 70s, in the very beginning, when they were playing small venues and junior colleges. Hope you have a great time at the gig. I still play their first two albums quite a lot. The last time I saw them was for the Love Bomb album, which Todd Rundgren produced. Not so fond of that era, but good music nonetheless.
