The Floyd Effect, Friday 30th May, Ruislip.

Last night they played from 9:30pm to 1:00am, with a couple of short breaks. In addition to the usual fare, they played High Hopes cool and Welcome To The Machine. cool cool The performance was one of the best tribute band shows I have ever seen. smiley I've watched Echoes, In The Flesh, Off The Wall, Perfect Alibi, Think Floyd and The UK Pink Floyd tribute, all of whom have been very good. But in my opinion, The Floyd Effect blow them all out of the water. cool In fact, I would say that they are as good as The Australian Pink Floyd but using a fraction of the budget and consequently offering far cheaper tickets (£15 pp). smiley

Bruce Springsteen once said they were the only band he’d pay to see.....

I’m seeing Graham Parker & the Rumour in Manchester tomorrow night.

Graham Parker & the Rumour are still a fine live band. They started off very well with 3 lively oldies but then a slow newie dissipated the energy. I was a bit disappointed by the setlist, which was weighted towards more downbeat songs like “Watch the moon come down” & “You can’t be too strong” (having the latter as an encore with only keyboards & bass was a waste of the band sad ).

Parker also complained that they were only doing “Protection” & “Coathangers” because the guitarists forced him to, which made me wish he’d let the guitarists choose the entire setlist wink
